It’s every creative’s worst nightmare — you pour yourself into your art and take it to the internet with the hopes of building a career off your talents, only to see someone steal your hard work and profit off of it. It happens far too often on platforms like Spotify and for Flat Black vocalist Wrex Horton, that nightmare has become his reality. In a video he posted recently to his YouTube page, Horton explained that for a while now, he’s been dealing with a situation where all of the music he’s ever put up on Spotify has been targeted by opportunistic motherfuckers on the platform. As I’m sure we’re all aware of at this point, but some people just can’t help but stir up the shit. Hell, we’ve made a reputation of doing just that on our little corner of the internet. But when it comes to the music industry and the drama that seems to bubble up from time to time, deathcore band Extortionist has had enough. At least that’s the angle they’re going for with their latest single, “When It All Goes Dark” off their forthcoming album Devoid Of Love & Light. And with this being the new release’s closing track, it’s sure to serve as a potent punctuation mark to what should be a ..read more

Another spring night, another kick ass show in the happy confines of New Jersey. This time, we’re featuring ‘The Angels & Villains Tour’, which boasted performances by co-headliners Born Of Osiris and Attila as they stormed their way into the Garden State this past Sunday. Joined by supporting acts Traitors, Extortionist, and Not Enough Space, the show was a high energy, densely packed affair, as bands and fans alike buzzed off the shared energy of being at a show and having a good time. Born of Osiris is seemingly still heading out on the road in support of their 2021 album Angel or Alie ..read more

There’s been a lot of talk about ‘extreme tours’ over the last 24 hours, so why not add another (stronger) option to the mix with the announcement that Canadian death metal outfit Tomb Mold will be tearing through North America later this summer. Oh and they’re bringing Horrendous with them on the ‘Enraptured By Fate’s Tangled Thread Tour’, so this shit is going to hit so hard. Having already thrown down the gauntlet at the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest earlier this month down in Philly, Tomb Mold has to perform at a couple of festival dates starting this weekend at Austin Death Fest before t ..read more

To say the work of death metal great Chuck Schuldiner continues to live on well beyond his untimely death roughly 23 years ago would be an understatement. As fans all over the world continue to blast Death’s music and pay tribute with various pieces of art and covers of his tunes, Death To All has been out there touring on the music with the distinct drive to spread the Floridian’s masterful works around the world. With their ‘The Scream of Perseverance Tour’ set to kick off next month, the band dropped a previously unreleased clip of them ripping through “Crystal Mountain” and damn it if it ..read more

I know what you’re probably thinking: “bird people?” As someone that doesn’t hail from Scandinavia, I too thought that was a silly premise, but apparently the final single from Darkthrone’s forthcoming album It Beckons Us All has ties to an actual regional bird. Though he openly admitted that the song had “not a very metal subject,” Fenriz went on to explain exactly what the song’s about and what went into it using the only method he knows how — very verbosely. So rather than sum things up and miss his particular flair, here’s everything he had to say about the track: “Not a very metal subje ..read more

Gorgatron have shared the single and video for “Blatant De-Evolution” ahead of their forthcoming album, Sentience Revoked, out June 21 via Redefining Darkness. The video is a gnarly gross-out, so be forewarned before you watch. It’s worth it if you can stomach it, though, because this song is a heavy hitter. “I don’t know much about science, but I believe humans have started to move backwards as a species” says Gorgatron vocalist Karl Schmidt. “I truly believe that humanity is doomed if people collectively continue to neglect positive introspection. The music written for this ..read more
