(Shorts, bra, shirt, shoes) Good morning!  I had a good workout on Wednesday so I’m still riding that endorphin high… 5 miles up the canyon and then we turned around and started our workout… It sounds a little confusing but it is actually super easy to keep track of in this canyon because there are triangles on the trail every 100ms so you don’t even have to look at your watch! 1 mile speed changes (100m fast, 100m float on repeat), 1 mile float (aka not easy but you can still talk), 1 mile speed changes, 1 mile float, 1 mile speed changes By the last mile I was expecting my legs to actu ..read more

Recently…. I ran 10 miles @ 8:18 pace with the girls. My brother-in-law came over and installed our lights and I love them. We had to start doing laundry at night so he could wear his Sandlot shirt every day. I asked my sister and niece to reenact this photo and my niece refused. I started reading this book when Heather recommended it to me and I CANNOT PUT IT DOWN (and I’m not even remotely exaggerating). I started listening to this book after Jenny recommended it (and I love Hope Davis narrating so I chose to listen instead of read) and I’m also completely hooked on this book.  I c ..read more

On Marathon Monday 2022, we ran Boston together, and on Marathon Monday 2024, we ran 11 miles @ 8:18 average together and stopped for water at a Chevron… It was basically just as exciting. Beck and I watched the marathon from the couch.  I was in heaven, watching the leaders and tracking all of my friends on my phone simultaneously. For dinner I made my kid’s favorite-> chicken roll-ups. Now let’s get talking about some other things: *Emma Bates’s face looked so relaxed as she was leading. *I was so impressed by Lemma leading and running alone for most of the race.  I’m telling ..read more

(Top, bra, shorts, shoes) Driving to the run, I told myself I would hang with these speedy girls for two miles and then drop back and do a short speed workout at a medium-effort push. <– The lies we tell ourselves to push start on our GPS watches. Lauren and I were so glad we showed up because the conversations were too good, and they helped us push harder than we would on our own. This run was just miles for them but felt like a 15-mile tempo for us, haha—> My watch said 15 miles @ 6:59, but Strava said 15 miles @ 7:00 average. Which one do I listen to? And why do I even care? About 30 ..read more

(Shorts, tank, bra, shoes) Emilee and I perceive temps very differently haha.  9 miles @ 8:33 average. Stuffed animal day for Kindergartners… When Skye got out of the car to go to school, Beck said, “She’s just so cute.”  I agree. Met my sis and niece at the park. My sister brought this find from Costco.  It’s amazing. The park crew. This is the park where Andrew broke his leg… luckily, nobody was hurt yesterday. Corey mentioned she had a Sandlot shirt so I had to get one for Beck. Yogurtlanding. Finishing off with Wish on Disney+ Excited for a weekend with everyone hom ..read more

(Bra ((it’s ribbed, and it’s my favorite… go a size up if you order it!), shorts, long-sleeve. It’s not super normal to run in a sports bra and gloves, but I’ll blame it on my hormones. I met up with four girls to join them at the track. One is running Boston in a few days, and her final workout was 3 x 1 mile at her marathon pace. I was really excited about that because her marathon pace is just a bit faster than my mile rep pace, so I knew I’d have someone to chase. We did a 3-mile w/u, 3 x 1 mile on the track with 2-minute standing recoveries, and c/d to 11 miles. My splits were 5:55, 5:57 ..read more

(Shoes, pants, shirt, and I’m just hoping I can put my gloves and headbands away VERY soon.)  I ran 9 miles at an 8:35 pace. My legs were very aware of the hill climbing I had done the day before. The day he gets to go to school with them will be the best day of his life. Andrew buzzed Beck’s hair, which aged him about ten years, in my opinion. I made a rookie mistake by storing our puzzles and card games within reach of toddlers… Beck had his friend over, and while I was cleaning the fridge and thinking they were playing with Magnatiles, they dumped out a few puzzles and mixed them tog ..read more

(Shirt, pants) 11.11 miles @ 8:14 pace w/ 764 ft of climbing.  I am trying to get back into trail shape to do some fun ones this summer. The sinkhole is still there… right in the bike lane!  I do not want somebody falling on this like I did… I still feel too lucky that I didn’t get more seriously injured.    There really wasn’t much else going on yesterday so from here, we will go into the tangents: *My trees are somehow still alive. :) I only have to water them once a week, and I do so in my bathtub to let the extra water run off into the drain rather than onto my wood fl ..read more

(shorts, top, shoes) Ten miles @ 7:56 pace on Saturday… I was going to add some speed and then made the executive decision I didn’t want to, so I just ran. We are back home now! We were in Bluff, Utah, which is in the southeast corner of Utah. For spring break, we wanted to go somewhere warm, new, and not too crowded, so we headed to Bluff. I googled “close-ish family resorts with a pool,” and Bluff Dwellings pulled up.  It was rated 4.7, and the reviews were all amazing while at the same time it wasn’t too pricey, so we went for it. The kids loved the resort’s park; I believe all parks s ..read more

Burritos and French toast for breakfast. Goosenecks State Park is unreal. We couldn’t believe it. Mexican Hat, Utah. Monument Valley!!! Sadly, it was so windy (hard to avoid getting sand in our eyes!!!) that we couldn’t do all of our plans there but it was still stunning to see.  I didn’t get my Forest Gump photo but we will be back… Sand Island Petroglyphs dating back 800-2500 years ago. And of course we ended things here. Happy weekend running! Tell me three things you have going on today! The post Silentish Saturday! first appeared on The Hungry Runner Girl ..read more
