The Mets’ affiliates played just three games on Sunday, as Syracuse’s game was canceled due to rain. A day after each of the affiliates won, it was another successful day where two of the Mets’ three minor league teams won their games on Sunday. St. Lucie’s pitching mates Austin Troesser and Jonah Tong dominated the Tampa Tarpons in their combined two-hit effort as the Mets rolled. Troesser began the game striking out the side in the first two innings, lowering his season ERA to 1.54. Tong continued his impressive season with a relief outing in St. Lucie’s victory over the Tarpons. The #22 prospect on the MMO top 35 list, RHP Calvin Ziegler, suffered a torn UCL and will undergo Tommy John surgery. Daniel Wexler was the first to report Ziegler was missing the 2024 season. The right-hander missed nearly all of last season due to elbow and quadriceps injuries.
