The Vancouver Foodster 11th Annual Taco Challenge was a success featuring taco creations from restaurants around Vancouver. Each restaurant and food truck featured their taco creation from May 1-26, 2024. Our media judging panel determined the ultimate winners of the challenge, and this was quite the task as each judge who tasted each creation with a rigorous process based on taste, originality/uniqueness and presentation/appearance.

It’s been more than a few years since I last tasted through their popular Steak Masters feature at Chop Steakhouse. This time around I was invited to their Coal Harbour location to try out this feature menu by Chop’s Executive Chef Stephen Clark.

I recently spent a week test driving the Honda Passport 2024 car around Vancouver visiting some new cafes and such.
I headed over to Point Grey Village and visited Oohlala Donuts & Coffee which had already been open for more than a few months. You can’t miss this pink boutique on the corner where it’s all pink on the outside as well as the inside, colourful interior with colourful glazed donuts in the front pastry case. They make about 20 different varieties each day and often change the flavours daily.

Enjoyed myself over a delicious Mexican brunch buffet that takes place every weekend and I loved all the different dishes that I tried including their delicious desserts. The restaurant features their special weekend brunch buffet on Saturday and Sunday’s from 10am – 3pm, no reservations, you just line-up outside and once seated inside you can enjoy all the different dishes and they change them up every weekend.

Welcome to the Vancouver Foodster Tiramisu Challenge. Restaurants, cafes and bakeries from all over Metro Vancouver were invited to enter their Tiramisu creations into this challenge. Each establishment will be featuring their Tiramisu creations on their menu from May 16 – June 9, 2024.

It’s been almost 10 years since my last visit and many menus have changed since; Executive Chef Skylar created a wonderful menu based on some dietary preferences for us; equally Bar Manager Christian created some standout mocktails.
1st dish:
We started off with the Pier 7 Poke, a tasty dish that’s popular on the menu for all those wanting a healthy and light dish.
