‘Plane Jane is the reality TV villain Drag Race has long been missing’
PinkNews

Plane Jane has made it to the top three of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 by sheer charisma, uniqueness, nerve, talent – and the embodiment of that acronym. And the show has been all the better for it. We freely admit that Sapphira Cristál or Nymphia Wind should probably take home the crown. Their storylines have been compelling (drag juggernaut, and lovable, talented weirdo), their looks have comprised two of the strongest runway packages in the show’s history and either would be worthy winners. What then, to make of the third finalist, Plane Jane? The same Plane who entered the werk room and t ..read more

Melissa Barrera has spoken about her exit from Scream 7 last year. Barrera starred as new character Sam Carpenter in 2022’s “soft-reboot” of the series, simply titled Scream, as well as in 2023’s similarly well-received follow-up, Scream VI. However, Barrera made a shock departure in late 2023 after reportedly being dropped by Scream production company Spyglass over comments she made on social media concerning the ongoing Israel/Hamas conflict. The character of Sam – along with younger sister Tara, played by Jenna Ortega, who left because of scheduling issues shortly after Barre ..read more

Location, Location, Location and Channel 4 presenter Allsopp has publicly stood up for the dignity of trans people over the last year, previously defending trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who was enduring a wave of transphobic abuse after creating an advert with beer brand Bud Light.  Despite explaining on Twitter/X that she doesn’t support puberty blockers for under-18s, or trans women a ..read more

Sapphira Cristál has made it to the final of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 with one of the best track records of the season. But it took a long time before she was even given the go-ahead to compete. While the crown could go to any of the top three – Plane Jane and Nymphia Wind are the others vying for glory – it’s probably be fair to say that Sapphira is the front-runner. She has stormed the competition, triumphing in four challenges as well as notching up five high placements, three safe weeks and one lip-sync for her life. On track record, Sapphira is the one to beat. Which begs the question ..read more

PinkNews
by Amelia Hansford

A group of Canadian doctors has questioned the Cass report’s decision to disregard a large number of existing studies into gender-affirming healthcare. The Cass report on the model of trans youth care in England was published last week. NHS England commissioned paediatric expert Dr Hilary Cass to head the review in 2020, in response to the sharp rise in referrals to what was then England’s only youth gender clinic. Following an interim report published in 2022, Cass recommended a “holistic approach” to treatment, including the creation of regional hubs across England. Reaction to the report wa ..read more

Hike up your bosoms and tighten your corsets, Bridgerton is back for season three. And there could finally be a queer romance on the horizon. It’s a sad fact that has caused some friction within the show’s large LGBTQ+ fan base, with some describing its earlier inclusion of a gay sex scene in a season one trailer as “queerbaiting”. The trailer for the first season in 2020 included two men having sex, but it turned out to be a blink-and-you’l ..read more
