A popular Toronto cafe and dessert spot has shut down their brick and mortar location in favour of a spot in a buzzy new Toronto food hall. Yonge and Eglinton's Postman Waffles quickly became a staple in the neighbourhood after opening in early 2023 as a late night spot to pick up something sweet. It was that very popularity that led to more than a few raised eyebrows when, this past spring, the shop closed its doors, announcing that they'd be relocating. "It’s not the end of the story [in] Midtown for us," co-founder Paulus Reyes, who started the shop with his wife, Aliss ..read more

Organized and hosted by The 519, the largest 2SLGBTQ+ community centre in Canada, the festival doubles as a fundraiser to help The 519 continue offering their services. A Toronto restaurant that got huge buzz before opening just announced that they've shut down. The much-anticipated sister restaurant to Bloorcourt's Parallel, Parallel Basta garnered huge hype surrounding its opening in September of 2023. Less than a year after opening, though, the restaurant has announced that it's closing down for good. In a recent Instagram post, the Kensington restaurant admits that the spot, which served both Parallel's signature dishes and exclusive offerings, "didn’t take off the way [they] predicted."  Left with a "decision to make," the resta ..read more

An new entertainment venue is opening soon in downtown Toronto, and will feature a bowling alley and other games. It likely wouldn't ruffle many feathers to say that The Well is quickly becoming the go-to spot for, well, everything, in the city, from the opening of their huge new food hall to their huge Sweat and Tonic location, the groundbreaking complex kind of has everything. Everything, that is, except for bowling, but even that is soon to be rectified. The event, fittingly named Runway Reels: A Retro Outdoor Film Affair, is a collaboration between Drag Me To The Movies and Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival, hosted by Northcrest Developments. The event will run two nights this June, hosted by Weird Alice, scr ..read more

Justin Trudeau surprised diners when he stopped by a restaurant in Toronto for a bite this week. The Prime Minister is no stranger to the Toronto food scene, having stopped by Jamaican favourite, Chubby's, earlier this year, and it looks like he's not done exploring the city's culinary offerings quite yet. North York Turkish joint, Mustafa, shocked and wowed their audience on social media when they posted a photo of their staff smiling alongside Trudeau.
