Tragically and sorrowfully, the list just keeps getting longer.
I’m referring to the list of pastors and ministry leaders who fall to sexual sin.
To the shock of many, the list now includes the name of the late apologist Ravi Zacharias. From big-name leaders to lesser-known local pastors, the list represents sacred trust broken, power abused and countless lives shattered.
The destructive and devastating impact on victims is both heartbreaking and beyond calculation. The sum collateral damage to the cause of Christ is staggering. Yet it continues.
If you have been processing disbelief, confusio ..read more

Are you feeling content these days?
Saying you are content isn’t easy on a normal day. All it takes for me to head toward discontentment is one piece of gravel in my shoe, slow Wi-Fi, getting stuck in the slow line at the supermarket or hearing the sound of a mosquito buzzing after I turn out the light.
Saying you are content isn’t easy in the midst of COVID. Everyone is dealing with a long list of inconveniences, while too many are dealing with serious hardships and significant losses.
Saying you are content isn’t easy for Christian leaders on any day, and especially in a pandemic. By nature ..read more

It’s only been a few days since we said “good riddance” to 2020, but already this new year doesn’t feel like a fresh start. To be blunt, it feels like a fresh mess or at least continued darkness and difficulty.
A quick listen to the news or a scroll through social media stirs a range of uncomfortable feelings–fatigue, anger and a sense of being overwhelmed to name a few.
So how will you respond as a Christian leader?
One response is a passive one. You can pull the covers over your head and hide. This response is like following in the footsteps of a bear for a winter hibernation.

It’s hard to believe! We are closing in on the end of 2020!
This year has been long, unprecedented and difficult on so many levels.
A few years back, I remember hearing about “2020 Vision” and “2020 Strategic Plans.” Vision is essential, and planning is so important. But sometimes the best laid plans don’t unfold as we expect or hope.

Every year at this time I share a free tool to help you reflect on the year.
Taking time for reflection is a critical practice for leaders. Reflection fosters learning, stimulates growth, calls for course corrections, identifies priorities and renews focus and energy.

Faithfulness isn’t critical when a crisis erupts, because we usually jump in full of adrenaline. We instinctually do whatever it takes to survive during the initial period of a crisis. However, faithfulness becomes critical when a crisis moment turns into a chronic reality.
Oddly enough, my tutor for learning about faithfulness this year has been an Omega Juicer. When the crisis of my wife Lea’s breast cancer diagnoses hit late last winter, we jumped into learning everything we could about assisting Lea’s healing. And leveraging the powerful properties of raw vegetable concentrates was one dis ..read more

Our world desperately needs Jesus-centered leaders!
We trust this interview with Dr. Tim Tang (Arrow Class 20) will encourage and equip you to be led more by Jesus, lead more like Jesus and lead more to Jesus.
Tim equips and networks with the intercultural Christian faith community as Director at Tyndale Intercultural Ministries (TIM) at Tyndale University in Toronto, Ontario.
Tim, how are you seeking to be led more BY Jesus?

If you are a leader, you are a “go to.” Maybe you are the “go to” for your church, your team or your organization. People go to you for answers, for direction, for help, for care and for spiritual support. Without question, your role as the “go to” is incredibly important in these crazy days.
I heard a great question recently. “Who does the ‘go to’ go to?”
Yet it isn’t easy being the “go to” in difficult seasons. It can be hard to provide answers when everything is changing. It can be hard to provide direction in the midst of chaos and conflict. It can be hard to help and care for others when ..read more
