The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) released its preliminary employment situation report for March 2024.
Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was unchanged over the month at 3.4% in March. This was the sixth consecutive month at 3.4%. The U.S. unemployment rate declined by one-tenth of a percentage point from its February rate to 3.8%.
The Commonwealth’s unemployment rate was one-tenth of a percentage point below its March 2023 level of 3.5%, while the national rate was up three-tenths of a percentage point over the year.

As we close in on Primary Election Day 2024 in the Keystone State, candidates for federal office face another campaign reporting requirement.
Less than 20 days but more than 48 hours before the day of an election in which the candidate is running, campaign committees for the U.S. House, Senate and quarterly-filing presidential committees must file a 48-Hour Notice (Form 6) anytime they receive a contribution of $1,000 or more.
