PRAIRIETOWN, Ill. - As several structures were damaged in severe storms Thursday evening, family and friends of one farm in Prairietown, IL, are now picking up the pieces. ST. LOUIS - The City of St. Louis found a 19-year-old guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action Friday. Devin Griffin-Curry was at his grandparent's house in the 2500 block of Semple Ave. on July 12, 2022. Neighbor Rickey Jemore Lathan, 35, was outside with two of his six children, shooting off fireworks. Griffin-Curry's grandfather went outside and confronted Lathan when a bottle rocket mistakenly hit his house, telling him to take the fireworks to a vacant parking lot. CREVE COEUR, Mo. - St. Monica Catholic School in Creve Coeur announced Friday that their school will be closing after this school year ends. According to a release, the school had less than 120 enrolled students for the 2024–2025 school year, with one grade level having three students. ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis flight bound for Sacramento, California, made an emergency landing Friday afternoon shortly after the plane took off. Sources tell FOX 2 that the plane had 175 people onboard and that the plane made a safe emergency landing around 4 p.m. Friday. ST. LOUIS - One man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a north St. Louis home Thursday night. The crash happened around midnight in the Walnut Park East neighborhood. Police say 36-year-old Lester White was driving the SUV when it crashed into a fence and home. Neighbors say White will be missed. EUREKA, Mo. - At least six small tornadoes developed in Missouri and Illinois Thursday evening. One of those went right through a wedding rehearsal dinner.
