I traveled to Hanksville, Utah, in March to photograph the Milky Way. During my time there, the weather didn't cooperate well, and I only had one night of clear skies to do astrophotography. Here's the shot that I got. It isn't 'technically great', but it's pretty good. This image was made by taking a 2-minute exposure for the foreground and fifteen (15) 13-second exposures for the sky (and these sky images were blended in a program to remove noise). When I was a kid, my grandparents raised hogs. I don't remember how many they had or for how long they had them, but I do remember them rooting around in the large wooded pens they were in. I remember them having piglets. I remember watching those piglets grow to be full-grown adult pigs. But what I remember the most is feeding the pigs. Sure, there was "feed" for the hogs that my grandparents bought at the feed store, but what I found the most interesting about 'all things hogs' was that the pigs were the most excited for the 'slop' that my grandparents fed them. It seems like people are always looking for the ‘next big thing.’ They want that ‘big’ thing to get the ‘big’ improvement for themselves or their organizations.   They’re looking something that takes them from A to Z without the effort to get to B, C, D, etc. Chasing that big idea can easily push yourself / your organization into a lull. Grand Canyon Majesty — If you’ve never seen a sunset (or sunrise) over the grand canyon, you are missing out. This image is from my most recent trip on a workshop with @don_smith_photography and @garyhartphoto to the canyon to chase storms and lightning. One evening when no storms were around, I decided to set up for a sunset shoot and found this little gem of a location.
