"Volunteer 4711" Themes

There are subtle themes throughout "Volunteer 4711" that symbolize her transformation from a volunteer with no rights or privacy to an equal galactic citizen. I would like to briefly explain these themes about survival, immigration, freedom, and culture shock. As always, my books are not for the faint of heart. Forced to volunteer. Transported to an alien world. Stolen by an alien pirate. I must integrate to gain my freedom. ***BEWARE SPOILERS AHEAD**** ,WHY IS SHE CRYING ALL THE TIME IF SHE IS SUCH A SURVIVOR? People who survive terrible things are typically not the “momentary heroes” you se ..read more

Does Body Count Matter? My Human Wife. *Spoilers*

, He’s awakened my body to my humanness. Thank you for reading, My Human Wife. I would like to discuss my inspiration for this book. This book was not easy for me to write and that is because so many of the themes are dark and emotional. But first let me mention the structure again, as I indicated in the introduction, some of the chapters are written in duet form for the narrators. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t allow me to deviate from the text more than a few words, so it was impossible to write a different eBook. I’m sorry for those who were disappointed by the duet chapters. I would encoura ..read more

Why Olympia Black is Mentioned in “They Cloned Tyrone”?? (Olympia Black Answers)

Lately I began to receive a lot of messages and emails asking me why I’m mentioned in the Netflix movie, “They Cloned Tyrone.” To be honest, I have no relationship with the filmmakers or Netflix, but I could hope that someone along the way was inspired by my science fiction books about humanity’s relationship with aliens, technology, and AI and what our governments might really be up to. But it was a bit surreal to Google, "Why is Olympia Black mentioned in 'They Cloned Tyrone'?" And see so much speculation about me and my books. Here’s the first explanation I found when I Googled it: Nixon d ..read more

Why the Cover of My Human Pet ...

Unfortunately, due to Community Guidelines, that kind of nudity is not allowed on book covers. The female main character has long blonde hair that she braids and blue eyes. The clothing her alien master gives her to wear is inspired by Yayoi Kusama's art and cannot be on a book cover. I am sorry some readers felt that I had lied, having the character instead of skimpy and degrading clothing that would pass Amazon and every other social media's algorithm for acceptable. Here was my inspiration for Ensley's pet outfits. Art by Yayoi Kusama, and I think anyone can see why I could not have this on ..read more

My master wakes me up when he comes in. I assume he’s off-duty now. I don’t know what he says, but at the sound of his voice, I open my eyes. I sit up, and then I swear he calls to me in his alien language, and I know it and go to him, naked. All the while thinking This is ridiculous. But he’s pleased, pats my head and looks at me so adoringly. After petting me, he just looks at me for a few seconds, then he points to himself and says something and then points to me. I finally figure out he is telling me his name or how to say ‘master’ or something. I say the word “Seb.” He’s genuinely thrille ..read more

“My Human Pet” is not meant to be just another science fiction romance to be taken at face value, and there are many deeper meanings to it. *BEWARE OF SPOILERS* I begin the story with the words, "Shark attack," because it is more likely you will get eaten by a shark than abducted by aliens. Ensley is proud to be a New Yorker because the press and propaganda in the US she has grown up with have told her she should be. The other women treat Ensley badly because she is from New York and because of the press and propaganda they have grown up with. If you hate Ensley for her behavior but can't ..read more

The Inspiration Behind “My Human Pet”, The Story of Ota Benga
Olympia Black Science Fiction Author Blog

If we were to be taken by aliens would they treat a human with any kind of respect? I doubt it. We can barely get ourselves to the moon. We would be treated as lesser beings, no matter how closely we resembled those aliens. Not unlike how Americans and Europeans treated Ota Benga. I am sure that many of my readers noticed the similarities between the character Ensley in “My Human Pet” and that of Ota Benga’s experiences with being bought in sold in the early 20th century ( minus the sex and the spaceships, of course). I changed that Ensley did get her freedom and to return to Earth. And it wa ..read more
