Hi, I am Sergio Acuña Padin, and this channel is about woodworking with simple electric diy tools, and making homemade tools, including how to make woodworking tools and contraptions. I attach those machines to some bench and boards to use them as a table saw, a homemade jointer, a homemade planer, a router table and some other woodworking tools like a jigsaw table, a drum sander, a disc..

Using a Japanese saw and an adjustable miter box, I cut the necessary pieces to make some wooden hexagonal frames. I need to make precise 60-degree cuts, which means I have to adjust the miter box to a 120-degree angle. This is very easy to do if you have an accurate set square. The idea was to make a hexagonal shelf and a hexagonal frame for a Beatles metal plaque, but I made a mistake with the measurements. On top of that, the oak board I used turned out to be warped. As a result, I ended up cutting smaller pieces. But that’s no problem, as in an upcoming video, I’ll turn these wooden hexago ..read more

Attaching wooden balls or beads to the ends of wooden dowels can be a great technique for creating a variety of unique woodworking and DIY projects. The key to ensuring that the ball is securely attached and aligned with the dowel’s axis is to create a concavity at the tip of the dowel. In this video, I demonstrate a couple of failed attempts—first using a drill press, and then by designing a simple woodworking jig that I believe could be improved for better results. Finally, I show how, with a bit of steadiness and the use of a wood drill bit, a metal drill bit, and a round cutter, I manage t ..read more

With this trick, we can drill perfect holes in wooden beads. You can even drill three holes at 90 degrees to each other in wooden balls. The best part is that to make this simple drilling jig all you need is a 3-millimeter drill bit, a drill press, a countersink bit of an appropriate size, some scrap wood from the workshop, and a bit of quick-drying glue. Of course, all the holes I drill go right through the center of the wooden balls. I’ve finished making the router table. Watch how I installed the insert plate for my palm router into the plywood tabletop. I started by routing the recesses for the anchor screws and leveled the router support plate using folded paper to make it flush with the tabletop. I also drilled holes for the screws that anchor the plate and screwed it to the tabletop, along with more screws to attach the tabletop to some wooden strips. The idea was to use insert nuts in the workbench to cantilever the router table. Finally, I did a test cut and noticed that the fence is a bit short, and the wood has li ..read more

In previous videos, we saw that I encountered several problems when trying to route the cutout for the insert plate that supports the palm router, to make a small router table. However, this time I used a few simple woodworking tricks that allowed me to do very precise routing work. In fact, it was so precise that I thought the plate wouldn’t fit into the cutout I had made for it. But it turned out that I hadn’t accounted for the radius of the insert plate’s corners, which was smaller than half the diameter of the flush trim bit and, therefore, smaller than the radius of the cutout corners mad ..read more

First, we look at the Problems Encountered in my first attempt to route the recess for inserting the support plate of the palm router. Then, I discuss various details about the construction of a small router table that I made on my channel without commentary, where I show a system to make the router table without the need to route a recess in the plywood board. ? In this video, I show in detail the insert plate for the handheld router: https://youtu.be/XoSAxoRtLVc ? Check out how I made the router table using thin plywood sheets. On my no-commentary channel: https://youtu.be/Gq5729SQJBM ? On t ..read more

Experimenting with different drill bit sizes for making wooden beads and balls may seem like a simple task, but it can hide frustrating surprises. From issues with the quality of the bits to unexpected incidents in the workshop, this project revealed more than I anticipated. Although the professional drill press helped maintain precision, the challenges were not lacking, including a valuable lesson and some off-center balls. Throughout the process, many doubts arose regarding the actual usefulness of these bead drill bits. While they can theoretically serve their purpose, the results leave muc ..read more

Drilling holes in wooden rods can always be tricky. Here we see a carpenter's trick to make a simple guide that allows us to drill holes aligned along and with the axis of the wooden rods. And it also allows us to drill holes at 90 degrees to each other. This is a very interesting woodworking technique to make some projects like wooden stools. If we use the right drill bit, we can also use this technique to drill holes in other round materials. We also see an attempt to make a miter box to cut the wooden rods with the handsaw. It's just the beginning of a woodworking idea, but I'm not sure it ..read more

In this video, I share several tips for drilling in difficult areas using a doweling jig. These woodworking tips are a great help when installing a kickplate and a reinforcement in our melamine shelf. Additionally, I connect all the parts with dowels to complete this shelf. First, I prepare the reinforcement and drill the holes, ensuring that the holes are well aligned and that the drill doesn't go through the side of the shelf's vertical panel. Then, I mark and drill the holes in the kickplate, making sure it is set back about 8 mm from the front of the shelf for a professional finish. While ..read more

How to use a dowel joint jig to drill the holes needed to join the pieces of a bookshelf together. In a previous video we saw how I layout the melamine faced particle boards and how I got all the pieces for the bookshelf. I also prepared the melamine boards so that drilling the holes for the wooden dowels was a simple job. These type of drilling jigs are fairly easy to use, and are designed to work with a few tricks that make the holes in the sides of the shelf very easy to line up with the dowel holes on the edge of the shelf boards. Definitively this is a must have woodworking tool if we lik ..read more
