A board from a broken bed made of jusk and acrylic paints for about $5 I’ve wanted to make this vintage-style sign for my workshop for a long time. But I thought it would be too difficult, and I doubted that, without any artistic skills, I could do it. I got the idea for this Japanese planing board (Atedai 当て台) from @Lemongrasspicker (https://youtu.be/goJExpYv2N8?si=cz_N-5USpRVBQs8G). I’m not yet sure how to use it, but I want to learn. Since I’m about to emigrate and won’t be able to take my workbench with me, I decided to make a board that I could use even outdoors, like by the sea, in the mountains, or in the forest. I think it will be very beautiful and interesting; the key now is to learn how to work with it. On the straight side, I’ll probably attach a block to serve as a shooting board.
