Reader's Favorite 5-Star Review!
HAVAH
by Ng Keng Tiong

I've submitted my novel to Reader's Favorite for review and today they came back to me with the following 5-star review: The need for a rapid response to global threats leads to the development of the STRATOS team, an elite unit of combat-ready operatives prepared to take on and eliminate hostile targets at short notice. Keen to maintain the upper hand in a changing world, the country's top brass took it upon themselves to include an artificial intelligence project to assist in STRATOS operations. David Friedman is the mind behind EVE, the artificial intelligence program. With the personnel ..read more

Beginning and Ending
HAVAH
by Ng Keng Tiong
3M ago
The beginning of a novel is important because it serves as a hook that arrests the readers' attention and keep them going page after page. Endings too are important because it's the conclusion of an exciting narrative.  How should a sci-fi novel end? Should it leave readers guessing? Give them a "feel good" aftertaste? Reduce them to tears? Or keep them at the edge of their seats and wanting more? Most fairy tales and fantasies tend to gravitate towards a "happily ever after" kind of ending, some with a slight twist of light humor or dark shades of uncertainty. Sci-fi narratives, on the ..read more

What I Want for Christmas
HAVAH
by Ng Keng Tiong

It's not often that I buy Christmas gifts for myself. This year, however, as I embarked on writing a sci-fi novel, I thought it would be good to get something related to what I'm writing. After some searching and reviewing, I decided upon the following books by Michio Kaku: 1. The Future of the Mind 2. The God Equation 3. Quantum Supremacy I will definitely find time to read through relevant parts of each book, and see if what I've written so far falls in line with Mr. Kaku's reasonings on the topics of interest. If need be, I might adopt some of his perspectives, or better yet, get his ad ..read more

STRATOS' Nemesis
HAVAH
by Ng Keng Tiong

Any engaging science fiction novel would invariably involved some kind of ultimate confrontation between the good and bad guys to bring the narrative to an intended climax. Mine is no exception. That's the good news. The not so good news is, I haven't the faintest idea what sort of villainy characters to bring into the story, especially when it's near the ending. So far, STRATOS has been invincible with their high-tech gears——a combination of impervious Warhawk Armors and deadly Raptor Rifles, and the dependable assistance of an intelligent AI entity, EVE. That definitely puts any ..read more

Chapter 20: Déjà Vu!
HAVAH
by Ng Keng Tiong
3M ago
Déjà Vu! This is a French expression that implies the feeling of having already dreamed something that is currently being experienced. I've decided to name this pivotal chapter as such for a few reasons: STRATOS' second confrontation with a mortal enemy Wolf's past of a failed mission coming back to haunt him The effect of Viper's memories on some of the team members HAVAH doing a rerun of Viper to realize her humanity and some. With so much going for it, little wonder it's the longest chapter in the novel, and probably the most engaging in terms of action-filled and emotional ro ..read more
