When the first round playoff series began between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks, a lot of people picked against LA. The power forward position for the Detroit Pistons faced unique challenges this season. Except for Isaiah Stewart, the team needed a true power forward. The Heat – Celtics Game 2 was one of “push back.” The players were hot from three point range but there were drives to the hoop. Jaime Jaquez Jr. was being a bully and would get handled, but kept pushing. Nikola Jovic was pushing Kristaps Porzingis off his mark all game. On Tuesday, April 23, the NBA announced their winner of the KIA Most Improved Player. The Philadelphia 76ers’ guard Tyrese Maxey was named victorious just edging out Chicago Bulls’ guard Coby White. Maxey finished with 319 voting points, while White received 305. Rockets’ center Alperen Sengun finished as the third finalist with 92 voting points.
