Another sampler I have been listening to is the sampler from the Bratislava based Start-track.com. This is a label that specialises in cassette releases, being founded by the same person who was behind the sadly now dead Z-Tapes, Filip Zemčík. There is also a blog of the same name, and the label has released four excellent compilations covering artists featured on that site. Some of the names on their roster should be familiar to you such as Swiss Portrait, Beach Vacation and FUVK. As we hurtle towards the end of another year, here are some releases gathered from the last four weeks or so. We have three from Chaotic Pop Records. This Indonesian label has fast come my favourite of this year and if they keep it up, next year too! As it’s the hometown of Caleb Carr (English Summers/The Guild/Arts and Letters) I wonder if he is involved in any way, shape or form? I am aware that’s a bit like me asking someone from Stockholm if they know Sven because he is from Sweden but given Wikipedia states the population of Clare is around the 3.2k mark it could be so eh?
