More Compact Personal Planning

When I first made the decision last year to use something more compact for planning, a big part of the decision was due to the fact that there was going to be a limited edition PLOTTER release. Now, a few weeks into using the 5th anniversary liscio green PLOTTER as a personal planner, I can confidently say that I’m really happy with my choice.   Keeping It Simple Why did I downsize? In short, my personal life right now doesn’t require too much maintenance. I used to have an A5 size PLOTTER for both work and personal planning from 2021 to mid-2022, but ended up transitioning all work-rela ..read more

My Podcasting Experience (So Far)
Those With Words Blog

Since the launch of Words and Roses podcast back in September, I’ve wanted to write about what it has been like to be a newbie podcaster. Miranda and I were clearly aligned as co-hosts when this journey began: let’s keep this project fun, and not let it stress us out. After all, we discuss stationery in our daily lives, which is something we both love.   The Origin Story Some of you may know this story already, but the first talk of the podcast came about in summer of 2022 when Miranda mentioned on one of her weekend Twitch stationery streams that she would be interested in doing a podcas ..read more

2023 Analogue System

The autumn season is upon us in the Northern hemisphere - although there are only a few trees near our building that are turning red and yellow, the air is turning colder and I’m starting to crave warm drinks in the evenings. We also only have two months left in 2022, which I don’t particularly love thinking deeply about (where does the time go? I say that every year), but what I do love thinking about is my planner/journal lineup for next year. Techo kaigi (planner meeting) is always exciting to do, and I have a few setups that I’m really looking forward to using. Let’s get to it!   2023 ..read more

A Quiet Hello

Hello! It has been an embarrassing amount of time since I last updated this blog. How are you doing? Will anyone even read this update? Who knows, but I’m going to try and pick this blog back up as another creative outlet. I’ve been particularly inspired by friends like Ame, Job and April who have been sharing snippets of their lives in written format either on Patreon or their own blog(s). Not only are their posts so nice and cozy to read, their writing also reminds me of how much I enjoy written content. In the age of and quick clicks and swipes, it feels intentional to sit down and slowly s ..read more

Mid-Year Analogue System Review

How is 2021 passing by so quickly? I feel like I blinked and now the month of June is already upon us, with July not too far away. I thought this halfway point in the year was a great opportunity to revisit my current analogue system and how the different notebooks have been working for me so far.   What’s Working Well? The Jibun Techo Biz (pictured above on the left) is still working really well. I’ve been using the Jibun Techo Biz as a work planner since 2020, so that’s not the biggest surprise. I have a specific way of color coding and tracking to-do items, so even though I don’t trac ..read more

My Twitch Streaming Experience (So Far)

It has been a while since I updated the blog! I had to focus on work more intensely within the last month, which caused me to miss making a post in April - but now that things are settling down again, I’m here to talk about an interesting creative outlet that I have been exploring for a few weeks: Twitch streams. While I’m far from being the first person to stream stationery and journaling on Twitch, I wanted to share my experience of what it has been like for me and why I enjoy Twitch as a platform for sharing my love for all things analogue.   What Got Me Started I first became interest ..read more

Customizing My Traveler's Notebook
Those With Words Blog

I recently customized my camel passport traveler’s notebook (TN) with leather pockets, as I did before with my olive regular traveler’s notebook. I sent both to Baum-kuchen in LA for them to go through the Truly Yours service and loved how they turned out! I wanted to share more details about what the process was like and how I decided on the customization options.   Camel Passport TN (Wallet) I had previously used the camel passport TN as a wallet, but with a separate wallet insert inside. It was a really convenient size to toss in my everyday bag while running errands, but using the ins ..read more

How My Journaling Has Evolved

This month marks a four-year anniversary since my first “serious” stationery order - and as you all know, I have not looked back since. It got me thinking about how I started journaling, what has changed over time, and how my journaling has evolved since I started on this journey.   My aforementioned first “serious” stationery order was from Hobonichi. I purchased a spring 2017 A6 techo and wrote consistently in it from April to December. I mostly focused on writing about my day and used a few stickers and washi tapes to decorate the edges. Although I haven’t gone back to the Hobonichi si ..read more

Story Behind My Handwriting
Those With Words Blog

This year, I learned that January 23rd is National Handwriting Day. I completely missed posting anything about it, of course, but it got me thinking about my own handwriting and why I write the way I do. As someone whose daily routine is to write on paper, I never observed the quirks that I have until now - I thought I would share them here for fun!   English Print This is how my handwriting looks most of the time. I write fairly fast and not in the neatest way, but I’m okay with it because pretty much everything I write is for my own reference anyway. Although I share pictures of my not ..read more
