La Quinta, California. A hidden gem nestled in the beautiful Coachella Valley, known for its stunning desert landscapes and year-round sunshine. This charming city offers a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors. With just under a 3 hour drive from LA, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit last month in partnership with the City of LA Quinta!
Here, we’ll explore the places and activities we did during our 3 day trip. @cityoflaquinta

I thought I would write a post for folks who may not know what dispersed camping is or have heard of it but not quite sure what it is or how to prepare for it. I also think it’s important that if we do go dispersed camping to follow the Leave No Trace guidelines so that these places we visit and camp at are treated with respect- so that you and others can continue to enjoy it for years to come!
So what is dispersed camping? Dispersed camping is camping outside of a designated developed campground or recreation area, typically with little to no amenities & services like picnic tables, wate ..read more

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my new home/updated website!
For the most part, this blog will consist of low waste living-from being outdoors, camping to travel and a bit of gardening. A big thank you to my dear friend Elena Lopez for putting together this website for me! Also thank you to Latasha Dunston, who designed the logo!
With the exception of some updates + new photos, this blog post was originally from July 2020 during the height of the pandemic and the end of #plasticfreejuly .
I hope the following is helpful!

In late October, my husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this eco-friendly + intentional cabin in Big Bear!
I absolutely loved our stay and how Christine and Kyle put this place together with secondhand and vintage pieces. From what I have seen, not many places do that. So anytime I do get to stay in a place like this, I get so excited!
I didn’t just love the decor and aesthetic of the cabin, but also the fact that they had composting available. Anytime time I go to places while I travel or even camp, I lug around a compost container to bring back home. But here I didn’t have to do t ..read more

Our wedding was in late Spring of 2018, but I have been meaning to share a full blog post with you all on how I aimed it towards the goal of zero waste!
We originally wanted to have a full-on wedding in Yosemite, a place dear to our hearts. But we didn’t have the budget to have it out there. Plus having a bunch of people drive up there when we could just have it in LA, wasn’t going to be that sustainable. So instead, we decided we would drive up to Yosemite a few days before the wedding, camp (yes, I got ready in the camp bathrooms lol), have our first look and exchange our vows in our weddin ..read more

When it comes to gift giving I’m all about gifting intentionally and gifting something that you know family & friends will actually use, something that will inspire them to get outside! Like a pair of HOKA shoes.
HOKA has different options, whether it's for a trail runner, walker, hiker, or for someone who needs a pair of comfy shoes for work. So here’s a holiday guide with my top picks!
Bondi 8:
Is a great gift for all day comfort. My go-to shoe whether it's for walking, running errands, or running. I recently took them to Disneyland and I was so happy I did because we ended u ..read more
