A new website is now live! The website contains presentations of particular temples in Bangkok, with videos and 3D models of their histories and explanations of artwork within. This short documentary was made by myself and photographer Ulf Svane. It was to be shown at the PBIC International Conference on Amulet Cultures in Thailand in Bangkok 11-12th June 2023. It was supposed to be just a history of the Tha Prachan amulet market, next to Thammasat Tha Prachan campus. There are several good lists of Buddhist movies already available on the net, such as this http://suite101.com/article/best-buddhist-movies-a95083 I’ve used these lists myself quite a bit, but hopefully this list will be different enough to be useful to somebody else. What is a ‘Buddhist’ movie? I have quite a liberal definition and that is: any film that can be said depict a ‘Buddhist worldview’ with such themes as re-birth or one that features monks and the Buddha’s teachings directly or any film that is heavily influenced by Buddhist ideas or aesthetics.
