Hi there, a very long time ago I started a Most Asked Questions series (you can find the first post from that series here: When are You and Darren Getting Engaged?) and today I’m back to answer another one of my most asked questions. This one pops up from time to time in my DMs, or even sometimes when I run into someone from high school in real life and it is “What do you do? Like what’s your job? Do you make money blogging?” What do you do? Like what’s your job? I work at Etsy! I’ve worked there for almost two and a half years and get to spend my days doing the thing I always said I wanted to ..read more

Life Update – We’re Moving!

Hi all! I’m back today with a very big life update – Darren and I are moving! I feel like this is something I’ve been hinting at for a while and when our lease renewal finally arrived, we made the decision not to re-sign. Ultimately, we just couldn’t see paying more for an apartment that we’ve already outgrown. While I’m sure I’ll make a follow-up post soon with more details on the where, the when seems to be the most pressing thing right now, we’re planning to be all packed up and on the road before Christmas – I know, that’s like really soon! I’ve got boxes stacked in the living room and we ..read more

Gifts for Him – What I Got Darren for Christmas

Darren is hard to shop for, mostly because if he wants something he buys it, but also because he gives very honest feedback the second he unwraps a gift, and not just in facial expressions, in words, and in returns. This year, I’ve been taking notes, literally – every time he mentions wanting anything I write it down. That said, I feel good that he’ll be happily surprised this year! Ode Brew Grinder Darren’s casually mentioned wanting a coffee grinder multiple times. We consider ourselves coffee people and it feels like the next step in our coffee journey is buying beans and grinding them at ..read more

Hi all! Back today with another gift guide and truth be told my favorite one to shop for and write – my sister-in-law and I have a lot in common, so Christmas shopping for her feels a bit like Christmas shopping for myself. JVN Shine all the Time Set My sister-in-law recently hinted that she’d like to try some JVN hair products, having tried these and loved them myself, I thought this set would make the perfect gift! Kisa Cat Candle I’ve had this candle saved since last year – my sister-in-law is cat obsessed and I think she’ll love this. Stanley Tumbler While my sister-in-law has never menti ..read more

Hi everyone, today I’m back with my Christmas wish list, keep reading if you know me (hi mom!) or if you know someone who might be a bit like me and need some gift ideas! Reformation Cashmere Polo Sweater This sweater is SUCH a classic piece, which makes it a great Christmas present. I love the idea of gifting wardrobe staples that are a little pricier for the holidays and knowing the recipient will think of you every time they put it on. Diamond Solitaire Necklace (0.20 CT 14″ Yellow Gold) Full disclosure – I LOVE this necklace and I know that because Darren bought it for me years ago and I ..read more

Hi y’all – this post is literal months in the making, Darren and I took a roadtrip down South at the beginning of June and I thought it was long overdue that I share where we went, what we did, and why. Darren and I have started the home buying process twice now – once about a year ago when we hoped we could quickly buy something before our apartment lease expired and once about six months ago when we realized that we weren’t getting much for our money in the Hudson Valley. In the first experience we leaned that 60 days is not enough time to buy a house (at least not for us) and in the second ..read more

10 Fall Days in the Hudson Valley

This weekend I couldn’t help but notice that the leaves are slowly starting to change, that some mornings when I wake up there’s a crispness to the air that feels a bit like fall, and that summer is starting to slowly drift away. Last year I very intentionally planned a bit of time off around peak leaf season and thought now seemed like a good time to share my itinerary for 10 fall days in the Hudson Valley. Day 1: Dutch’s Spirits, Pine Plains Dutch’s Spirits in Pine Plains is not only a great spot for a drink, but also offers some very picturesque views of the mountains and their changing le ..read more

My sister-in-law and I both happen to have January birthdays and I always have so much fun shopping the post-holiday sales with her in mind; today, I’m sharing what I got her for her birthday! Anthropologie Felt Hat Anthropologie’s sale section can be pretty hit or miss, but when I spotted this hat – I just knew my sister-in-law would love it. I’m not sure if she’ll wear it or use it as wall decor, but I’m so impressed with the quality and got it for under $30. While they don’t seem to have any left of this style, there are lots of other cute felt hats in their sale section. Madewell The Juli ..read more

20 Things That Made 2020/21 Suck a Little Less

This blog post is literally years in the making – I started drafting this one in 2020 and here we are in 2022 and I’m just now getting around to posting – if that’s not a 2020/2021 vibe – I don’t know what is. Barefoot Dreams Everything I officially have a head-to-toe Barefoot Dreams work from home “uniform.” If we know each other, there’s a good chance that I’ve gifted you a Barefoot Dreams blanket – they feel like warm butter and they go on sale at Nordstrom Rack every Black Friday for under $50 (go ahead and set a reminder for next Black Friday). Anyway, I recently ordered myself Barefoot ..read more
