Eduardo Chadwick stands as a prominent figure in the Chilean wine industry. Since 1993, he has held the position of President at Viña Errázuriz, a winery deeply rooted in family ownership. Established in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errázuriz, the winery has remained within the family’s grasp, save for a brief period in the 1970s and 80s when it temporarily fell under the ownership of a bank. Eduardo, in his late 40s, possesses a trim physique, eloquent articulation, and a reserved demeanor that could be likened to a member of the English aristocracy. His accomplishments extend beyond merely buildin ..read more

The Loimer estate’s vineyards are situated in the Kamptal area, a cool and sunny region to the northwest of Vienna, near Langenlois. These vineyards are carefully divided into 100 distinct parcels and planted in seven different types of soil. Covering a total of 85 hectares, they offer significant potential for creating wines with remarkable complexity. The vineyards’ high altitude and their orientation towards the south/southeast contribute to the development of aromatic compounds in the grapes. Starting in 2006, the estate began transitioning to biodynamic viticulture, ultimately resulting i ..read more

Schloss Gobelsburg, situated in the Kamptal wine region of Lower Austria, can be found approximately 50 miles to the northwest of Vienna. This historic location serves a dual purpose as both a winery and a castle. It boasts a rich heritage of wine production dating all the way back to 1171, and its impressive architectural structure is even recognized as a protected historical building. Notably, Gobelsburg is renowned for its traditional method of crafting Riesling wines, a reputation that has earned it a distinguished place among the world’s premier wine estates, according to Karen MacNeil ..read more

Uncovering the Hidden Beauty: Exploring the Enchanting World of Uncrafted Vines
The Cork Reporter

In the realm of excellent wine, a new organisation has emerged. From a distance, it resembles an exclusive members club with a roll call of some of the top figures in the wine industry. Les “Francs de Pied ,” a producer organisation, brings together those who deal with ungrafted grapes. However, there is a catch: as of now, only Europeans are members because ungrafted vines must be native varietals to the country of origin. Additionally, its president is not without his own share of scandal. This all seems to be fairly interesting thus far. There is nothing wrong with top producers who still h ..read more

Château de Jonquières

For historical reasons alone, it is worthwhile to visit Château de Jonquières. The west wing of the château is surrounded by two towering cylindrical turrets, while the east wing backs into a large courtyard. One of the château’s most stunning architectural wonders is a horseshoe-shaped stairway leading from the rooms onto the courtyard, enclosed by a Renaissance-style, arched double balcony. Aside from its spectacular architecture, the estate’s family history is similarly amazing, with the estate claiming to have been passed down through 32 generations over 900 years. After the 31st generati ..read more

That Marlène Soria story is amazing! She relocated to the village of Saint Pargoire, a few miles from Montpellier, at the conclusion of her successful real estate career, and into a house that was lost at the end of a trail. She initially moved here to hide from the world, but in the early 1980s she made the decision to clear the scrubland around her house and turn it into vine patches. Her sensitivity to her skin’s surface and her desire for creativity grew, and she is now one of the most gifted winemakers. She mostly planted Syrah between 1984 and 1987, followed by Grenache and Mourvèdre fo ..read more
