Kyoto is starting to ban tourists and on this trip I surely understood why. Taking photos in overcrowded touristy areas is a challenge for itself, therefore I am explaining my process of looking for interesting scenes in popular destinations. Equipped with my Leica M10, this trip turned into a mixture of street and urban photography. And besides unexpectedly running into the best light, we also found the weird ..read more

This is why Street Photography in Japan is hard

This not your typical place for street photography - but this place has one big advantage: you can experience and photograph emotions here. Japan is known for being reserved when it comes to expressing emotions in public which can make it hard for street photographers to capture real authentic emotions. However, not so in this place. Here, people seem more relaxed and uncensored when it comes to showing emotions publicly. But, this place brought up some other challenges on top of loading in a wrong roll of film. _______________________________________ Follow Me: ? - YT: @KarinMajoka ? - IG ..read more

On our third day in Japan we decided to do a little day trip to (in my opinion) one of the most magical cities in Japan: Nara! Located around 1 hours by train from Osaka, it's mostly known for the free roaming deer that are living throughout the entire city. I initially only brought my Leica M6, but since it was raining all day I spontaneously borrowed my partners Olympus AF-10 Super, shooting a variety of color and black and white films. _______________________________________ Once again thank you to Valoi for sponsoring this video! [Werbung] Thank you to #Xiaomi for sponsoring this video! This is a video about the new #Xiaomi14TPro, more specifically looking at it from a photographer's perspective. The lenses were co-engineered with Leica - and being a Leica photographer myself, I was more than curious to see how this little device performs in some of the most challenging shooting conditions: doing street photography at night. Is this new Xiaomi smartphone actually a Leica camera for your pocket? #OnlyAtNight #XiaomiPartner #Xiaomi14series #Ad _______________________________________ Follow Me: ? - YT: @KarinMajoka ? - IG ..read more

The second day in Osaka is a little different than expected: after getting lost on the way to the Umeda sky building it started to rain which is why we explored a second hand camera store as well as Yodobashi Camera Umeda, the biggest camera/tech store in Osaka. On top of that we visit a light show by TeamLab in the botanical garden where I took some of my favorite photos of the trip so far. _______________________________________ Once again thank you to KameraStore for sponsoring this video!
