Natural Skincare Routine | Oil Cleansing
Lost Girl On Earth

Oh hey! In addition to travel and fashion, I am starting to incorporate more wellness and beauty-related tips into my blog. This is my first post related to skincare and is all about my natural, commercial-cleanser-free routine: oil cleansing. Traveling nonstop last year made me the importance of wellness and self-care. Taking care of yourself whether you’re traveling or not is so so SO important. Self-care doesn’t have to be extremely time-consuming or expensive, especially if you happen to be lugging around large amounts of products while traveling.  Why I Started Using Natural Oils In ..read more

Blog updates, life updates, and a new focus
Lost Girl On Earth

It’s been over a year since I moved to Berlin and over a year since my last post. Coincidence? I actively decided to take a pause on blogging because I didn’t have a lot of time to think about it anymore. It started to become a hassle and a chore, and I couldn’t find inspiration whenever I sat down to write. I would always find an excuse to do anything else. My focus last year was to do well at my new job, make friends in Berlin, and get to know German culture better. I barely traveled in 2019, other than visiting Zurich for a few days, Mallorca to see a friend, and Barcelona for an end-of-the ..read more

8 Things You Should Know About the Digital Nomad Lifestyle | Tips & Resources
Lost Girl On Earth

The day I was let go from my corporate media job in New York City, I packed up my cubicle into a cardboard box and walked out the front door during the lunch hour. I immediately called my mom and told her, “I’m going to Europe.” The questions and comments started pouring in: “How long will you be gone? When are you going to start working again? You don’t have a lot of money. How are you planning on supporting yourself while you travel? Just start looking for a new job in New York.” Sliding out of the U.S. like ^ The thought of starting a new 9-5 job made me feel queasy, but without an income ..read more

Lost Girl On Earth is no more: Introducing Travel Well
Lost Girl On Earth
by Steph Liao

I’ve long thought about what to do with this blog which has barely been used since I moved to Berlin in 2018. Should I remove it from the internet? Should I keep it online as an artifact of my past life? The other morning during a meditation session, it hit me: it’s time for a rebrand. Lost Girl On Earth will now be Travel Well: a resource for those looking for wellness travel experiences. Here’s why. As I’ve gotten older, my love for travel has stayed strong. I’ve also been able to appreciate better what it truly means to relax. In all honesty, I've had a difficult time doing that in my young ..read more

Press Trip with Boho Travels | Relaxing in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Czech Republic
Lost Girl On Earth

It seems that the dust has finally started to settle a bit for me here in Berlin, at least for now. November was another crazy month with no sign of deceleration as it morphed into December. The thought of going through another month without taking a break wore on me. So when I was invited to go on a press trip to Czech Republic with a wellness/travel agency called Boho Travels, I jumped at the opportunity. Boho Travels was founded by Jitka Hrebikova, who facilitates trips to spas and wellness centers all around Czech Republic. Collaborating with luxury spas, a team of scientists, and medical ..read more

Stream of consciousness...where have I been?
Lost Girl On Earth

I love seeing the TV tower from different parts of this city. Always makes me pause and think, “I live in Berlin.” I feel like I’m always starting off blog posts or text messages with “it’s been a while,” and maybe that’s becoming a (bad?) habit of mine. Not sure why I do that, as it states the obvious, but I also feel that some level of acknowledgment is needed when I haven’t written or posted anything here in three years now. So, hi again ;) Not going to make excuses for why I haven’t been present here lately. As you know, there were lots and lots of things happening since 2019 - Covid, a ..read more

What it's like to do a 10-day silent meditation retreat: Vipassana experience
Lost Girl On Earth

“What was it like?” I thought for a moment and finally settled on a word that best described my Vipassana meditation experience. “Intense.” Most people assume that meditation is supposed to be a relaxing experience, and for some, it can be and is. But for me, it’s kind of a hassle. Sitting cross-legged on the floor with my eyes closed even just for 5 minutes was unthinkable, and some days it still is. I always feel like my time is best spent doing some kind of movement, like yoga, HIIT, or running, and not just sitting and physically doing nothing. But this was exactly my problem. I don’t know ..read more

Is a Travel Blogging Conference Right For You? Takeaways and Tips From TBEX Ostrava 2018
Lost Girl On Earth

This past weekend, I attended my first travel blogging conference, TBEX (also known as Travel Bloggers Exchange), in Ostrava, Czech Republic. I’ve been travel blogging intermittently for all of 2017 when I started my journey into becoming a digital nomad. But even before this blog, I had a Wordpress-hosted blog a few years back when I lived in Hong Kong which also focused on travel. That blog eventually died out, as most of my blogs have in the past. But for some reason, I really feel like Lost Girl On Earth is different and I’d like to make it work! I started travel blogging as a hobby. It’s ..read more

Berlin Updates, 30 Days of Journaling, & Life Goals
Lost Girl On Earth

As some of you may know, I spent a year backpacking through Europe, India, and Africa. After scoping out options on where I wanted to live, I finally settled in Berlin. I can’t really say “settled” because I’m still waiting on my residence permit, which could take a while to get approved. Because of this, I once again find myself living in the in-between. This has caused me to question a lot of things: my career, my lifestyle, my goals, my relationships. Everything. Fall in Berlin. So much change. Let’s Start With Career Over the summer, I went to a travel blogging conference because I though ..read more

Jodhpur: Short Guide to India's Beautiful Blue City
Lost Girl On Earth
by Steph Liao

Last year, I created a popular post about traveling solo in Jaipur, AKA the pink city and meant to create a follow-up post about Jodhpur, but I totally forgot! In any case, here’s a quick post on what you should know about visiting the blue city. Jodhpur is also located in the state of Rajasthan and isn’t too far from Jaipur. However, the cities have completely different vibes. The most obvious difference is the color of the buildings. Jodhpur is distinctly blue everywhere you go. It is also sometimes referred to as “the Sun City” because it’s known for having warmer weather year-round. I’m no ..read more
