As a devoted dog photographer, my passion for animals goes beyond capturing their precious moments, as I have also dedicated myself to helping dogs in need. When I heard that Save Our Scruff,  a remarkable animal rescue organization, was collecting donations for their gala event, I knew I couldn't let this opportunity pass by. I eagerly jumped in, not wanting to miss the chance to help them make a difference. I was happy to donate my Signature Session to this amazing rescue organization that helps dogs in need globally. Our Consultation I was thrilled to find out ..read more

I met Kyia at a Craft Show, Pet Pawlooza, in Brantford, ON, where I was one of their vendors. She stopped by with her friend to talk with me regarding my service, End Of Life Pet Photography.   She expressed to me how Moe was twelve years old, and he was all she has.  Kyia told me how she has many cell phone photos of Moe but nothing that she can put on her walls or even of them together. So she signed up right away for my End Of Life Pet Photography Session.  During Our Consultation During my Pet Photography Consultation, I ask my clients many questions so I ..read more

I get constantly asked, "How did Canovas Photography come about?"  It started during the pandemic. Thank you to the pandemic we all had the gift of time to learn or try something new. I decided to pick up my Rebel camera, which had been in my closet for years ( I have now updated to a Canon Mirrorless), and drive around the farms in Hamilton, ON to photograph horses. When I wasn't in the car driving around looking for farm animals, I was home photographing Cisco and Tito.  One of my first image taken at the farm in Haldimand, Norfolk County I needed an outlet for my depres ..read more

I recently had the pleasure to create memories for Cathy with her fur-baby - Bowser. Bowser came to Canada from Ukraine, right before the war broke. His breeder didn’t want to leave him behind at the house so he started asking around people that could help him take his dogs. Cathy cousin was flying to Canada, and that is how Cathy ended up with her cuddly fur-baby Bowser. Bowser - a rescue from Ukraine Bowser Photoshoot Session We went to Durdum Castle, in Hamilton, Ontario early morning, now one of my favourite locations to photograph. So many cute spots there. Bowser remained on the leash a ..read more

January 24, is Change A Pet’s Life Day. This day was created to bring awareness of animals in need. There are lots of ways we can help an animal. Here are a few things we can do to change a pet’s life. Adopt Contact your local rescue organization to apply for adoption. When you adopt an animal you are giving that pet a chance to have a beautiful life. You are making room for more animals to be saved and the best part is you are getting a new companion that is willing to give you unconditional love. These 3 corgis were all adopted! I had the pleasure to photograph these 3 beautiful souls that ..read more

If you follow pet accounts on social media that bring smiles to your face, then you definitely follow this little guy, Bacon. A miniature schnauzer that thinks he is a giant. And indeed he is a giant, his loving, fun personality lights up any room.  I had a chance to meet Bacon at the Canadian Pet Expo, I knew who he was from his walk...extremely confident! Bacon and his mom, Tiana stopped by my booth to say hi. I was excited to finally meet a fashionista that kept me entertained during the pandemic.  Tiana took time from her busy schedule to answer a few questions about life with Ba ..read more

I photographed Lexi and her family in October. The goal for this photoshoot was to celebrate their beautiful 13 year old Lexi in her favourite trail in Aurora capturing the striking fall colours. This beautiful 13 year old knows how to pose for the camera! The family wanted most of the session to be focused on Lexi, but they also wanted a few images with Lexi. So I captured the five of them together and one of each with their beautiful fur - baby . Lexi is a very sweet, friendly dog and her age definitely did not stop her from chasing the ball. I captured some authentic moments of Lexi, actio ..read more

Losing a beloved pet can is desvasting & heart wrenching. It's important to be mindful of what to say or not to say when a pet parent has lost their furry baby.  I, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to three wonderful dogs, Oscar, Katie, and Duquesa. When I lost Oscar, about 7 years ago, a week after saying goodbye to him, I went to work and I wasn't myself. One co-worker, in particular, noticed I wasn't myself and I told him "I, unfortunately, put down my dog last week" his words were "it was just a dog" and laughed.  I'll never forget those words or who said them to me. Th ..read more
