Lisa took part in the London Marathon for Child Bereavement UK in memory of her brothers who died of a genetic condition aged two and a half and four The pain of losing someone never leaves you, it forms you, is part of you, but if I can help others to reach that point just a little sooner then that would be a good thing. I wanted to run the London Marathon in memory of my two brothers, for my younger self who was defined by the loss, and for my older self for whom it still sits sadly and always will. I also ran it for my sister and for my family. At the time mum and dad had relatively little ..read more

Jennie shares how she and her sister Sally, and colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group, have taken on a year of challenges to raise funds for Child Bereavement UK In 2022 we began our mission to send a message of hope to those left behind by raising awareness of the incredible work that Child Bereavement UK does for children who have had experiences similar to ours. Over the past ten years Sally and I have been unfortunate enough to lose both of our parents at a young age, an experience which I can only describe as the most overwhelming level of emotion you could ever imagine. Sam shares why he fundraised for Child Bereavement UK by taking on the Barcelona Marathon in memory of his father The inspiration behind this challenge was my Dad - when I lost him, I felt as if my whole life had been turned upside down. I had no idea whatsoever as to how to deal with my emotions, who to talk to or what was the best way to move forward. I decided to take on the Barcelona Marathon and dedicate it to my Dad, who passed away in 2016 when I was 15. I wanted to push myself in a way I had never done before, all while raising awareness for the wonderful charity that is Child Bereavem ..read more

Thomas, aged nine, took part in Jog on January to raise funds for Child Bereavement UK in memory of his father, who died when Thomas was five months old. We knew what a worthwhile, helpful and supportive charity Child Bereavement UK is. It was an easy decision to raise funds by taking part in Jog on January. My Dad died on Boxing Day 2014. I decided I would like to do something positive to mark the anniversary by raising money and awareness for Child Bereavement UK in 2024. I enjoy running and I was familiar with the Jog on January challenge as my brother participated a few years ago, so I dec ..read more
