Grounds Cafe and Eatery opened on 6 November at the heart of Blue Mountains Campus entrance, offering a perfect location for both occupants and members of the public to enjoy. The latest BMC offering is serving up sweet treats, sandwiches crafted with love and plenty of coffee to keep the Wallaceville community going all day long. Willis Bond has brought in experienced cafe operator, Jason Calcott, to run the cafe with food offerings supplied by the local Dough bakery located in Upper Hutt and coffee supplied by Allpress. We are very excited to announce that an exciting new café and eatery is set to open within the campus in October 2023! Located on the ground floor of the Buddle Building, just inside the main campus gates on Ward Street, the campus is set to be Upper Hutt’s best new spot for a great coffee and bite to eat in the heart of Blue Mountains Campus. It was a privilege to have Prime Minister Chris Hipkins drop in and congratulate the LT McGuinness onsite construction team on the continued progress of Blue Mountains Campus this morning. The Prime Minister was visiting KiwiRail’s new National Train Control Centre which is located in the campus and was built by the LTM team. The campus has been chosen as the Government’s first strategic regional hub, and it was great to showcase the transformation of the site since the Prime Minister’s previous visit last year. KiwiRail has today celebrated the official opening of its new state-of-the-art National Train Control Centre at Blue Mountains Campus in Upper Hutt in a ceremony overseen by the Hon. Michael Wood, Minister for Transport. KiwiRail’s 100-strong rail control team will be based across the new control centre and another two levels of space in the fully refurbished Buddle Building, which together form Stage 1 of the new business campus. The KiwiRail control room takes shape in the foreground, whilst refurbishment works on the Buddle Building (viewed in the background) continue apace.
