Needle galaxy, NGC 4565 or C 38, is a spiral galaxy aprox. 30-50 million light years away. The galaxy is facing Earth from it's edge-side. In the picture taken March 28. 2024, another galaxy can be seen, NGC 4562. The picture consists of 3 hours data( Skywatcher 200PDS, Zwo ASI 585MC, EQ6R pro) "Nearby" galaxy NGC 4562 ..read more

In May 2023 a special event took place in the galaxy M101. A giant star located in the outer spiral arm of this galaxy, exploded as a supernova(SN 2023ixf) 21 million light-years away. I think this rare event was a need-to-have picture in my image collection. 40 frames x 240 sec, exp. 100, Zwo 485MC( cooled), skywatcher 200PDS and a lot of coffee ..read more

Jellyfish Nebula C 443...what a fish

I caught this fish recently in the constellation Gemini, 5000 light years from earth. This beautiful nebula is likely an old supernova remnant. I was lucky to capture the object, the weather was starting to become a little hazy, and in the light polluted city like Copenhagen( bortle scale is 7-8) I should be pretty happy with the result. More to come on my astrophotography blog... Exposure 20 x 5 min, Gain 200 on my Zwo ASI485MC ..read more
