Portable Disc Golf Basket – Balancing Cheap & Quality
Penn Disc Golf Blog

I’ve been recently searching all over to find the cheapest baskets, while maintaining some durability and stability. Many of the cheapest ones don’t have a real basket and don’t simulate a real disc golf hole. For the sake of this article, we will keep all prices below $120. Here are some of the results for best all around purchases: MVP Black Hole Lite ($114.95) I bought one of these recently and LOVE it. These are the high quality baskets for putting practice. It also doesn’t weigh as much as you would expect for these types of baskets. It is both durable and portable 2. Divergent Discs P ..read more

Signing vs. Sponsored | Disc Golf Contracts
Penn Disc Golf Blog

There are hundreds of companies out there that are wanting you to buy their product. One of the ways that these companies get their name out there is by contracting players. However, there are different contracts that people sign for. For some companies, there are different levels of sponsorship; for others, there is only one sponsored team. We recently ran a FaceBook poll in order to better understand how disc golfers view the difference between signing and sponsorship. The majority of responses agreed that being signed is for top-level pros that are receiving real money to sign the agreement ..read more

This one goes out to all of the disc golf girlfriends My life as a caddy for Brandon has brought me to so many new places that I never would have experienced without disc golf. I don’t play in any tournaments, but I love going to them and watching him play. Disc golf has brought us together in a lot of ways. It was our first date over two years ago, and continues to be one of our favorite ways of spending time together. I like to play at a lot of these courses when he isn’t playing in a tournament (maybe one day I will enter one). Places We’ve Been We have been to dozens of courses all over P ..read more

The first pro tour stop for the 2023 season just came to a close and it gave us a lot of answers about what we can expect from the best of the best in the MPO and FPO fields. Here are my ten biggest takeaways from this past weekend. 10. Calvin Came to Play Calvin after winning Las Vegas Challenge (photo credit: Disc Golf Pro Tour) Other than the hiccup on hole seven, Calvin looked like his strong consistent self as he battled back from a two stroke deficit. He started the round behind Kevin Jones but beat him on hole 18 for the win. His putting looked great; he made far putts from the outer ci ..read more

Test Track Park Disc Golf Course | Berwick, PA

Test track park is one of Brandon and I’s favorite courses, because it’s where we had our first date during the height of covid. Since then, we have been to dozens of disc golf courses together, even going as far as Arizona. However, we hold this one especially close to our hearts. Although it’s not the fanciest course, or the most well-groomed, it is a fun eighteen-hole course that was perfect for a charity doubles tournament last week. History & Layout This disc golf course was built in 2016 and runs alongside the Susquehanna river. The scenery is beautiful and features a concrete walkwa ..read more

Penn Disc Golf Blog
by Brandon DaGrosa

At every sanctioned PDGA tournament, there is always someone behind the scenes who must organize the event. The disc golf community refers to them as tournament directors.
