　１ Lilacは伸びをして、ベッドから起き上がった。朝陽が、部屋に気持ち良い光を投げかけている。ワッフルのコットンローブを着て、キッチンへ行った。コーヒーの用意をし、窓の外へ視線を向けた。アパートのベランダから見える川を挟んだ向こう岸の川沿のサイドウォークに人が集まっているのが見えた。いつもは、ジョギングする人や、散歩をする人しか見えないのに、人が集まっている光景は珍しい。人数は２０人くらいだろうか、ミーティングなのか、ストリートパフォーマンスなのか、Lilacは気になった。数人がその場を離れたので、中の様子が見えるようになった。小さな女の子と並んだキャンバスが見える。その横に母親らしい髪の毛が自然と言えば自然体の、言い換えると髪を無造作に束ねた女性が座っている。一人の女性がキャンバスを手に取って、一緒に居た男性と一緒にその場を離れた。ここからはどんな絵なのか見えないが、売る事が出来るくらいの絵なのだろうか、また他の女性が違う作品を手に取ってその場を去った。通り過ぎる人が、新たにのぞき込んで、立ち止まって、興味深げに作品を見ている。また他の若い男性と女性が、作品を買って去る様子が見えた。止まって見る人が一つずつキャンバスを持って帰っている。Lilac ..read more

コロラドの天候はとてもユニークです。冬は雪が降ってもすぐ溶けて、デンバーも標高が高いせいか太陽の日差しが強く日中は上着がなくても良い位になる日もたくさんあります。また春の桜が咲くころや、母の日が過ぎた気温がぐっと上がって来たころに、どーんと大雪が２日来るのは恒例の事。ここでは庭に花や野菜を植えるのは母の日が過ぎてからと言う言い伝えがあるほどです。最近では温暖化のせいか、母の日を数週間過ぎても春の恒例の大雪が来ることがあり、今年も例に洩れませんでした。皆植えた植物に零下のダメージに備えて布を被せて予防をするようニュースでアドバイスしていました。今年も雪の前と雪の日の気温差は摂氏２０度以上でした。 今回の曲は、朝とても晴れてお天気が良かったのに、午後から明日にかけかなりの雪が降る注意報が出ていた日に、家に帰り、少しずつ振り出した雪を見ながら演奏した即興演奏です。大雪になる可能性がある雪は、見る見るうちに塀や屋根や木々を白く積もらせていき、ただただ降ります。気持ちも外へ出られず、降り続ける雪に惑わされたような気持だったのか、繰り返される連続音が行き詰った感じの迷路に巻き込まれたような気持だったのでしょう。 そんなイメージがこの曲を生み出させました。ビデオリンク　↓ The weather in Colorado is very unique. Triple beats represented by the waltz. I am very comfortable improvising in triple beats. If I play triple beats any time, I don't think much and the performance comes to mind. Maybe it's from the dancing steps ? When I'm playing the triple beats, simply rhythm gives me a hint for the next sound rather than improvising any song. Improvisation is different from composition. Composing is thinking and choosing sounds to create a better composition and music. Anything is possible with improvisation. When I used to improvise a long time ago, it was messed up and it didn't turn out to be a song.
