From their original debut in the 2000’s, solidifying themselves as one of the best boy bands in the UK, it seems that 90’s and 00’s kids still burn a very bright flame for Busted. This was very evident with their sold-out show filling the whole of Leeds Millenium Square for Sounds of the City 2024. Some would consider Leeds the home of the UK pop rock scene. We have the likes of Slam Dunk, Key Club, Santiago’s Bar and many more making it a hot spot for lovers of the music genre. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that Leeds gave a very warm welcome to Busted and made sure the ..read more

Another night of uplifting music provided by the ever-popular Oporto, situated in the heart of Leeds City Centre’s Call Lane! When I was approached to cover this one, I can’t admit I had ever heard of any of the artists playing at Oporto last Thursday, other than that Molly Rymer in all of the email exchanges seemed like a name that jumped off the page. I’m glad to say, it bounced into my mind in an instant – and for good reason. Through the heat-riddled nights we’ve been enjoying and enduring in West Yorkshire of late, it’s hard to say that it came as a surprise that the heavens clouded ove ..read more

Victoria Connell delivers more than just a review, with thought-provoking reflections on the artists’ world of music. “I’m with Leeds Living.” I say, my voice quivering as the ticket taker checks the guestlist for the third time. Nope, still not there. “One moment.” She says and rushes into the venue. Beside me begins the long queue of Lovely Eggs Fans. They’ve seen and heard this entire interaction. I consider making a little joke or small talk, but decide against it, cointinuing to stand by the venue door instead. Fortunately I don’t have to stand long before hearing the welcome words of ..read more

Good Neighbours Some technical issues resulted in a delayed start, but Good Neighbours made up for it and played some new releases, which had never been heard before. The crowd were even taught the lyrics to the songs and encouraged to interact and dance along. Not only was it a nice touch, as it allowed the crowd to engage with songs that they hadn’t heard before, it was also a brave move – the band even joked with the crowd not to get too excited as the songs may not have been great – but they were great and they drew in a lot of fans.
