2024 Planned Litters

Having had an unexpectedly busy 2023, we are taking a small puppy break over the Winter period and my next litters will be born in 2024. The litters for 2024 have been decided and can be viewed in the attached link. Do bear in mind that Mother Nature does play a hand and sometimes a girl will not fall pregnant, sometimes the litter will be small, sometimes larger. Occasionally if a stud isn't available I may change the sire, but this does not happen often. https://www.northboundaustralianlabradoodles.com/planned-litters ..read more

Guardian Homes Required

2023 is a mixed year of emotions for me. Firstly, I have a number of cherished girls retiring, this is a sad time as it means I do not have the enjoyment of caring and nursing my girls through motherhood and raising their litters with pride. However it is also a time of happiness when the girls retire as they are then pets for the next 10 years of their life, living with the guardian homes who have raised them from early on. Secondly, 2023 is also an exciting year because I will have planned for a few years to retain a male or female puppy from the retiring dogs for the next chapter of Northbo ..read more

Puppy Availability?

When do you have available puppies? I am on your waiting list, can you tell me when I will receive my puppy? I absolutely understand why these questions are so important, after all we like to be prepared and to have a timescale to work too, and a month to look forward to. Let me explain why it can be tricky for me to be exact, and why it really is down to Mother Nature. The biology bit.... A female dog can only be mated during a season. She can be reliably in-season every 6 months, or every 10 months, or somewhere in-between and also unreliably fluctuate between being early and late. Once mate ..read more

It came to me the other day just how many of my dogs are from overseas. I have imported four dogs from two different breeders in Canada. I have two dogs from Finland. A dog from the Netherlands. Plus some lovely studs on ice from America. Why do I do this? It keeps my inbreeding percentages low. It develops my lines in different ways physically and in temperament. I build great relationships with other breeders. I look to the future of the breed. Who benefits? You the buyer. You can be reassured that I have scoured half the world to find the best dogs I can, that I believe in for the future of ..read more

Litter Lists and Plans

Just a quick note about how I am allocating my litters now. For the last 8-10 years I have allocated families to specific litters. However having had a flurry of smaller litters in 2019, this meant that some homes did not receive a puppy immediately, and the following lists were fully reserved. Then I had some homes wanting standard chocolate girls only, and others wanting small phantom or parti, and they were placed on multiple lists which then artificially filled up lists. To make my litter allocations fairer and simpler, I noted over the last year a definite divide between families wanting ..read more

You have spent months scouring the internet researching dog breeds. You have found me as your breeder and waited 12months for your beautiful bundle of love. You have complimented me on my dogs temperament and training. So why....when you collect puppy and I ask if you have signed up to your puppy class ready to start when pup is 12 weeks old do I hear; 'the classes are fully booked...' 'I haven't looked yet..' 'I tried calling one but they did not answer the phone...' To a breeder, our immediate thought is, how invested are you really in raising this puppy? You have had at the very minimum 8 w ..read more

Implanter Qualified

As a breeder and a professional, it is important to me to keep learning and progressing. This can be in the form of reading, research, Zoom CPD and more recently microchip implanter training. I found myself in a tricky situation during lock down when for a brief period the vet services were limited and I was struggling to have my puppies micro-chipped. It is important to comply with the law for all pups leaving their breeder to be micro-chipped and registered on a recognised database, but to also make sure if they are ever lost they can be reunited when found. In the last couple of weeks I hav ..read more
