Downtown Denver, Colorado City Couple Photography

Many couples picture the mountains when they think of their engagement or couple photography session in Colorado. I’ve noticed city sessions becoming more popular and I absolutely LOVE them. Of course the mountains are beautiful, but there is something so charming about the vibe of photoshoot in downtown Denver. I grew up practicing photography in alley ways and in abandoned buildings, and I fell in love with the textures of brick walls, interesting architecture, and light as it leaks through a stairwell or parking garage rooftop. Mekenna reached out over a year ago to book this couple ..read more

Blackstone Rivers Ranch, Colorado Wedding Photography

If you are thinking of getting married in Colorado, Blackstone Rivers Ranch is one of the dreamiest venues to host your wedding! Pro number one is that it is close to Denver nestled in Idaho Springs (about 1.5 hours driving, so easier to access from Denver International Airport than some further mountain venues.) Not only is it an easy drive, but it packs in a lot of the beauty Colorado has to offer, so your guests will feel immersed in our state’s unique nature. It may not have those sweeping high-elevation mountainous views, but there is so much more to Colorado than just the mountain ..read more

As a wedding and couple photographer based in Colorado, one of my favorite places to travel for sessions is Arizona. I am actually from Arizona and grew up photographing couples there for over a decade before moving to Colorado in 2018! Phoenix is PERFECTION in the “winter”, I love escaping the cold and frolicking around in the desert on a perfect 75-degree January day with golden sunsets year round. I was lucky enough to capture Joanna and Eugenia’s engagement photos near the Superstition Mountains right outside of Phoenix in Apache Junction. This is also the same location I photograph ..read more

Sapphire Point Overlook at the Dillon Reservoir in Dillon, Colorado is one of my all-time favorite spots for an elopement or intimate small wedding. If you are searching for a pro to help you plan your elopement and pick the perfect spot to do it, I’m your person! Not only is the area surrounding Lake Dillon beautiful in the warmer months, but it is an easily accessible option for the winter as well. Sapphire Point Overlook provides stunning views of Lake Dillon below, as well as mountains in the background. This is the best of both worlds if you are someone seeking a location with wate ..read more

One of the greatest ways to celebrate your engagement is doing a photography engagement session amongst the Boulder flatirons. Whether you are from out of state, or born and raised in Colorado, Boulder is one of my top suggested locations for engagement sessions that will make you think “wow!” Boulder, Colorado is such a magical place for an engagement session because it showcases mountainous views, pine trees, beautiful skies, and a variety of nature. There are many hiking trails that are easily accessible and some are just a few minutes of walking from the parking lot, but it looks like you ..read more

One of the only silver linings to come from COVID wedding postponements was getting to photograph Abbie and JJ’s wedding TWICE! I had the honor of capturing their elopement in 2020, and then finally their big celebration in 2021. Their elopement in Breckenridge was an intimate celebration with their family at an Airbnb they rented, surrounded by fall colors, aspen trees, and mountainous views. When you really love someone, sometimes you can’t wait to get married. In Abbie and JJ’s case, they just wanted to start their life together and knew their friends and family would be there for the celeb ..read more

Tilda and Addison decided to celebrate getting recently engaged with a mountainous photo engagement session! They traveled all the way from Texas and wanted their engagement photos to showcase Colorado’s diverse beauty, from the pine trees to the mountainous overlooks. I scouted the perfect spot for them near Woodland Park with stunning views of Pike’s Peak. Something I do for my couples is pick a custom location based on precisely what kind of backdrops they like. Tilda and Addison couldn’t believe how perfect this location was, from the mountain views to the incredible pink sunset skies. It ..read more

It goes without saying that I LOVED photographing Evan and Lisa’s wedding at the Surf Hotel and Chateau in Buena Vista, Colorado! Evan and Lisa are the coolest couple and I had been excited about their wedding since 2020. Thank you 2021 for allowing them to finally celebrate!  Before their getting ready photos, I took a few laps around the hotel (like I always do before a wedding. I scope out the best photo spots beforehand!) I was immediately inspired by the hotel’s unique architecture, decor, and large windows that provided my *favorite* soft window light. It’s honestly a freaking aweso ..read more

Jayden and Blaine created the perfect hybrid between an elopement and a small wedding. Since they aren’t from Colorado, they wanted somewhere that showcased all of Colorado’s natural beauty while still being immersed in nature with their guests. They decided on St. Mary’s Glacier which not only has stunning mountainous views, but a snowy glacier year round (this was in June!) and a gorgeous lake at the base of the glacier. It pretty much has everything you could want from Colorado. They did want to include some friends and family, as well as a wedding party. Most of my elopements are just me a ..read more
