Even though there seemed to be a bit of a debate at the time, the Minnesota Timberwolves never had a single doubt about Anthony Edwards’ potential as a franchise player.
There were some concerns about his lack of defensive commitment and expertise, but there were flashes of his potential on that end of the floor.
It’s safe to say that those doubts are no longer there, as he’s taken great pride in his defense, and has made huge strides as a stopper as well.
That’s why fellow defensive star Rudy Gobert showered him with praise.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have finally found Kevin Garnett’s heir.
They have had some talented players over the years, but neither of them took a leap forward as a superstar, let alone put the team on his shoulders to be their leader.
Anthony Edwards is that guy.
Not only is he a special talent on offense, but he’s also made great strides on defense and has taken plenty of pride in becoming a lockdown defender on that side of the ball as well.
And more than that, he’s shown a level of hunger and competitiveness that one doesn’t see often among ..read more

Many fans have expressed excitement about how this year’s playoffs have played out to this point, as several NBA teams are in the postseason that weren’t expected to be in this position heading into the year.

In basketball, the sixth man of a team is very important, because he comes in and has the ability to change the tenor of a game while giving his team whatever it needs after watching how a game has unfolded from the bench.
The finalists for this year’s Sixth Man of the Year award in the NBA were Malik Monk of the Sacramento Kings, the Milwaukee Bucks’ Bobby Portis, and Naz Reid from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Reid had won the award, per NBA on ESPN.

Rudy Gobert isn’t the most popular player in the NBA, not by any means.
The fans, the players, and even some of his former teammates don’t seem to like him that much, both as a player and as a person.
His reputation precedes him all the way back to his days with the Utah Jazz.
He’s been laughed at, mocked, called soft, and overrated.
Nonetheless, the Minnesota Timberwolves big man is unfazed by the haters.
Recently, he stated via an ESPN.com piece that he impacts the game in a “very unique way,” adding that his greatness triggers other players becaus ..read more

Being the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft always comes with lofty expectations, and not many players are able to live up to that hype.
However, confidence has never been an issue for Anthony Edwards.
The young Minnesota Timberwolves star has always let it be known that he believes he’s the best player in the game, and he plays with that kind of swagger.
Edwards put the league on notice with his fantastic performance in Game 1 vs. the Phoenix Suns, talking trash to Kevin Durant, pounding his chest, and leading his team to a huge win.

Even though some players have never won an NBA championship or even gotten far in the playoffs, they have the undisputed respect of their peers.
It’s not easy to stand out in the NBA, let alone be considered a star.
On the flip side, it seems like some players will never get any love or recognition; it doesn’t matter how much money they make or how many accolades they achieve.
That seems to be the case with Rudy Gobert.
As shown by a survey conducted by The Athletic, up to 13% of the surveyed players believe the Minnesota Timberwolves big man to be th ..read more

They’re now up 1-0 on the Phoenix Suns, and it seems like they mean business this time.
They’ve finally found a legitimate leader and franchise-caliber player in Anthony Edwards, and that’s great news for the fan base.
On top of his stellar game on both ends of the floor, Edwards has that old-school demeanor and mentality that has made young and old fans alike and even former players fall in love with his game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves had a strong 2023-24 NBA season, finishing with a 56-26 record and earning the third seed in the Western Conference.
Minnesota came into the year expected to make a leap, and they delivered on those projections as they owned the league’s best defense.
The Timberwolves also saw Anthony Edwards take the next step to becoming an NBA superstar following his eye-opening run during the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
