Atlanta, GA, May, 18, 2022 – Engage for Good hosts 2022 Halo Awards and announces The Satcher Health Leadership Institute (SHLI) at Morehouse School of Medicine and Google.org as two time award recipients at their most recent ceremony. Behavioral Health Data Added to Health Equity Tracker

In support of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute’s (SHLI) commitment to create systemic change at the intersection of policy and equity, the Health Equity Tracker (HET) team is excited to announce the expansion of the health outcomes offerings of the tracker through the creation of a “Behavioral Health” category and the addition of five (5) indicators:

SHLI’s Executive Director featured in USA Today article discussing the outstanding inequities that continue to plague communities of color.
“In 2020, the death rate among white Americans was 14% higher than in 2019. For the first 10 months of 2021, it’s 9% lower than 2019, suggesting that deaths for the full year will be closer to pre-pandemic levels.
Daniel Dawes, executive director of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, said the 2021 figures for communities of color are “really troubling,” though the disparities are not surprising.”
