As we enter the new Arts Council England funding period, museums from across Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight have joined the Museum Development South West area. We extend a warm welcome to those museums, as well as three new faces who will be working with us to support them. Alice le Page is the new Museum Development Officer for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. She started in the role at the beginning of April and will be available three days a week. Kids in Museums and Museum Development South West are pleased to be launching a partnership support programme focusing on creating a family friendly museum environment. This programme specifically targets museums within Levelling Up for Culture Places in the Hampshire Solent geographical area. This year there will be five opportunities to secure funding from Museum Development South West (MDSW), made possible with support from Arts Council England and Art Fund. Celebrating the Impact of Travelling Together

On Thursday 7 March, team members, participants and supporters gathered in Taunton to celebrate our National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England funded project Travelling Together: Museum Journeys Towards Inclusion and Collaboration.  Over the course of nine months, this project took eight museums on a learning journey which supported them to learn, plan and take effective action for genuine inclusion and greater accessibility.
