Tell us about yourself. I graduated in 2019 from Cairn University with my teaching degree.  During the Fall of 2019 and throughout that school year I worked at a public school as a building substitute. When the pandemic sent Emily Waters and her family into quarantine in 2020, she learned something new about herself; she was an excellent- and passionate- teacher. She began homeschooling her two daughters and immediately fell in love with it. “I didn’t know I loved teaching until last year, but now it’s all I want to do,” Mrs. Waters explained. Lindsay Drew is happy to be returning to SCS this fall as the Preschool Aide in Kimberly Drew’s preschool four year old class! After an internship for early childhood education that she completed at SCS, she knew she would find her way back again to our community. Laura Thiessen – Middle School Teacher Mrs. Thiessen has wanted to be a teacher since she was a 1st grade student here at Sussex Christian school. She was heavily impacted by her teacher Mrs. McMillan and wanted to teach students to read like she did. After pursing a degree in deaf education, Mrs. Thiessen also became licensed in special education.
