We got these maternity photos for my stepdaughter done, just in the nick of time! The baby came a few days after we did these. And because I’m years behind in updating over here – the baby is now 15 months old! Good GRAVY how time flies. Despite the time lapse, the images are still beautiful. Kelsey is the best mama, and Monte, her husband, is definitely winning dad of the year! I’m blessed to have this little family in my life. They set a great example for the world, and their little one when it comes to life and parenting! Enjoy the photos ..read more

Howdy y’all, it’s your favorite South Dakota Cowgirl, Jenn Zeller here, and I’m here to talk about one of my favorite seasons: Winter. Now, I know what you might be thinking. “Jenn, winter is cold and dreary. How could you possibly enjoy it?” But hear me out, folks. Winter is a time of beauty, reflection, and yes, even fun. I know we are officially in Spring, but the snow storm that hit Tuesday has me reflecting… South Dakota, will teach a person to appreciate all the seasons, including Winter. As a cowgirl, winter presents its own set of challenges, but with those challenges come moments ..read more

I’m almost 3 years late, but I’m still here! To share with you with ONE of the coolest thing that’s happened to me in my life! There’s more coming, but you’ll have to wait… Western Horseman in 2020, (yes, that Western Horseman), decided I had a feature worthy story! How and why I’ll never know, but here we are, in 2023 and I’m finally sharing. I was selected to be featured as a Women of the West. How cool is this? I hope this piece will inspire all of you to become the best version of yourself! If you need a little help along the way, I’m always here to lend an ear. As a quick little a ..read more

Better late than never to share some branding photos, right? And in case anyone has been wondering — yes I’m alive. I’ve ignored this little space. Not because I’ve wanted to necessarily, but because I’ve gone back to riding horses full time! AND I’ve spent the last couple months developing an online horseback riding course! I’d love for you to join my community and let me share my knowledge with you! The post Branding Photos – 2022 appeared first on The South Dakota Cowgirl ..read more

May your Christmas be filled with love, joy, laughter, while you’re surrounded by those you love. Don’t forget that He is the reason for the CHRISTmas season, even if we did over on the solistice holiday! I sort of ignored this little spot of mine this year, but I’ve reworked some things and hope to be back at it in 2023, sharing lots of images, and updates on our lives here at The DX Ranch. I appreciate all your love and support through the years – it means more than you’ll ever know. There’ll should be plenty of foals for baby fodder in 2023, as well as updates from the rodeo road. Fall work is my favorite time of year! The calves are big. The air is crisp. The sun will warm your back. The grass turns to gold — to ready itself for a Winters slumber. Neighbors are keen to visit and help. Getting the calves ready to sell, makes for a fun day. There’s a good ride to help make a good horse. What’s your favorite time of year? It’s been a hot minute since I’ve hung out in this little corner of my world, and I have so much to catch all of you up on! To kick off the new year, I want to start by sharing the prettiest pair of Boots by Lane Boots! I’ve searched high and low for black boots and when I got the chance to own these beauties, I took it! They’re sassy and stylish and comfortable. All important traits in a boot if you ask me! This post is sponsored by Lane boots and the link above is an affiliate link — and when you shop it you support my barrel racing habit – just sayin’. Just in time to go to the NFR, Lan ..read more

The 2021 CNFR

I was devastated for all the college rodeo athletes last year, when the 2020 CNFR was cancelled due to Covid. But this year, the show is a go, and Casper, Wyoming will play host. The show runs June 12 – June 19th. As a former college rodeo athlete myself, who unfortunately, despite all my hard work, never made it to the CNFR, I have an affinity for rodeo and for those who do make this amazing show on dirt. Not only is there an amazing rodeo to see, Casper is home to so many activities, you could keep yourself busy for weeks! Below, I’m sharing a few of the things I’d do if I were going to ..read more
