As part of your Kinesiology session we look into the foods that you are eating in order to fully understand your system. Most of the wonderful people I see in the Dragonfly Room are working hard with their intake of foods and aiming to eat 'good stuff'. Many clients explain that they have Granola for breakfast as they have 'heard' that this is a good food. The challenge is that if you are buying supermarket brands they usually come with enough sugar to rival a cake! Granola's have a base of carbohydrate oats, sweetened with honey, sugars, dried fruits and commonly sunflower oil. These ingredi ..read more

When we feel overwhelmed there can be the tendency to shallow breathe. Deep, slow, full breaths have an amazing effect on resetting the stress response, because the vagus nerve goes through your diaphragm and is activated with every deep breath. Take ten deep breaths now, and notice how differently you feel after. www.dragonflyhealingroom.co.uk #schoolplaces #secondaryschool #newschool #changingschool #stress #anxiety #mentalhealth ..read more

Areas I check when looking at the symptoms and root causes of Migraines....the fact is that the root cause of the migraines experienced may not be in your head at all! With Kinesiology we are looking to find out the root of the symptoms that are challenging your body. When we ingest foods that are not compatible with our systems then this causes inflammation a big trigger for migraines. Stress also causes a response that will challenge the hormones and cause a migraine reaction / symptom. Magnesium deficiency can often be indicated by headaches and migraines. And as you know the gut is the po ..read more

Did you know that back pain affects around one-third of the adult population! I see many clients who report that they have lower back pain and that they're unsure where it came from. As part of your Kinesiology session we look at all the factors that can cause challenging wellness symptoms. Over the years I have found that the main issue with back pain has been intestinal. When the digestive tract is stressed generally things start to tense and tighten, including the ligaments and connective tissue which hold the bowel in place and are connected to other organs like the pelvic wall. There may ..read more

So this happened this week....I had my little people in the car and the radio had been on and I needed to park in a 'tight' parking space so I automatically turned off the radio and started to concentrate on the reversing beeps.... When we were securely parked and engine off my daughter asked me, "why had I turned the radio off before parking?" Fabulous question....I hadn't even noticed I had done that! So what is going on in the subconscious mind? It means that the background 'noise' wasn't needed, I had to focus and it meant that distractions would be challenging... ...hhhhhmmmmm......inter ..read more

Emotions....what springs to your mind? Happy, sad, funny, quiet, over excited, introvert....there are so many that it can be easy to avoid some of them because they feel uncomfortable, they can make us have unpleasant feelings. When we avoid the unpleasant emotions they can end up in our body as a physical challenge because we are not at ease or at dis-ease. There's absolutely a survival aspect and instinct with emotions - if the feelings are unpleasant and uncomfortable our feelings try to protect us - they give us signals that say this doesn't feel good leave it alone. Your extremely clever ..read more

Global rates of dementia are currently projected to triple by 2050, this is a disease that sadly I have experienced personally within my family and there is yet to be found words that can describe the impact it had. Every time we eat and every decision we make regarding our health can dramatically shift and alter your wellness including the health of the brain. It is never to early to start protecting your brain, healthy diet, restful sleep, stress management and exercise contribute globally to your system but also help to prevent cognitive decline. Eating a diet that includes foods that fuel ..read more
