Diablo IV reviews have dropped overnight, with many outlets having good things to say about Blizzard’s long-awaited return to Sanctuary. For complete transparency: I did have review access to Diablo IV myself but, thanks to the intrusion of Covid, general life stuff, and the time-limited nature of the review program, I was only able to spend a few hours with the game before access was revoked. To say Capcom fumbled Street Fighter V is an understatement. SF5 launched in an incomplete state, going all-in on “esports” to the point that it shipped without even basic single-player modes, and the flat, offence-heavy combat came off so canned, so rote, that it almost felt turn-based. WW2 strategy title Company of Heroes 3 Console Edition arrives tomorrow, May 30th, and its local publisher is holding a competition to celebrate. The prize? A giant Company of Heroes 3 diorama into which it has built a working Xbox Series X. The whole diorama is reportedly valued at $10,000, and was created by Geelong-based fabricator TagMods. After a seven-year wait, the latest instalment of Capcom’s iconic fighting game series is just around the corner. Street Fighter 6 will be punching on from June 2 and, unlike the previous game in the series, will be making its way to Xbox along with the PlayStation and PC. Fortnite has got to be the leakiest boat in all of video games (and apologies for the deep fried hero pic on this piece. We’ll  get into what that’s about in a moment). A new leak for Epic’s world-beating battle royale seems to have solidified an enduring rumour that the game would return to a jungle setting for its next content season and that a Transformers event could be on the way. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the Sega developer behind the Like A Dragon (formerly Yakuza in the West) and Judgment series, will hold RGG Summit, its own developer showcase, next week. The good news for fans in Australia and New Zealand is that RGG Summit will kick off at a reasonable hour, making it one of only a handful of showcases in June to do so.
