For the second year in a row, the semi-finals were purely decided by the televote – well, with the exception of San Marino – however, the final is still decided by both the jurors and the televote, which has been the case, since 2009 now. Once again this year, the EBU revealed the full list of all the jurors from the 37 participating countries of this year’s edition. Following the conclusion of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has released an official statement addressing the behaviors of delegations in Malmo. The statement was issued to the The Mirror and the Irish Independent stating that they regret that “some delegations” did not behave within the spirit of the contest rules and during their respective broadcasts. After last night’s Grand Final, where Luxembourg came 13th for their return, the Head of Delegation has already talked about the country’s future plans for the next Eurovision Song Contest. David Gloesener has confirmed Luxembourg’s participation in next year’s contest, stating that preparations are “on track” and that discussions and working groups will be held in the coming weeks to prepare the participation for the 2025 contest. Peter van de Veire, VRT’s commentator to the Eurovision Song Contest confirmed to the Belgian fan media website Songfestival.be that Belgium plans to attend the 2025 contest and select their participant via a national selection. The country, which is part of the low countries region, alternates between Flemish and French-speaking entrants. It has been one eventful week in Eurovision and in Malmö, to say the least. During the Danish live broadcast of Eurovision 2024, announcer Ole Tøpholm shared the five members of the Danish jury. AVROTROS have confirmed in a statement that Joost Klein will not perform in tonight’s jury final while an investigation into an “incident” is ongoing. Instead, his performance from Semi Final 2 will be used. Details regarding the situation On the 10th of May 2024, the first dress rehearsal for the final was supposed to take place, early afternoon and everything went according to plan, leading up to the flag parade, which Joost Klein featured in.
