Sixteen arrests made during DUI checkpoint

The San Bernardino Police Department announced 16 arrests and 49 citations were made during a DUI checkpoint held on April 26. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and another 15 drivers were arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license. The DUI checkpoint was held on 3200 block of N. E Street, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. More than 450 vehicles were contacted during the checkpoint and 12 vehicles were impounded. The Board of Supervisors approved a contract that will provide spaying/neutering of cats and dogs owned by residents within unincorporated areas of the county as well as the spaying/neutering and vaccination of community cats via a mobile service. The city of San Bernardino has received $950,000 in federal funding that it will use to install high-tech security cameras downtown. Rep.
