Introduction and Latest Results Since February 2021 (just after the pandemic rise), we’ve asked, “In 5 Years, who will be the most popular equipment supplier for home gym strength?” on a pretty regular basis. The four options this time around were REP, Rogue, Bells of Steel/Titan, and “Other.” The four companies mentioned seem to be the largest of those focused on supplying equipment to the core of this community. REP was the relatively easy winner, with 48% of the votes. Rogue was easily in second with 37% of the votes. Therefore, they combined for about 85% of the total votes. Then, you have ..read more

Introduction Standalone single-column trainers have surged in popularity recently, but home gym options were limited until the past few years. Bells of Steel addressed this gap with several budget-friendly trainers, and REP introduced The Adonis, which even doubles as a dedicated lat pulldown/low row machine. Prime also offers a trainer, but its price point may not be accessible for many home gyms. While Bells of Steel’s options range from $349 (plate-loaded) to $1,129 (selectorized), they lack a robust lat pulldown feature despite offering a 2:1 or 1:1 cable ratio. Essentially, they function ..read more

These two were compared in a poll, and the Rogue option won with about 7% more votes than the Adonis. In total, 39.7% voted for the CTM, 32.8% for the Adonis, and 27.5% needed more info. On this Instagram Post, many highlighted that they would choose REP because of the Pegasus Attachment, others choosing Rogue because of the Made in America aspect but little price difference. Rack Attached vs. Standalone Machine Data

Introduction As most of us reading this blog post know, many companies are creating numerous rack attachments that replace standalone machines for our home gyms. This allows home gym owners to add many “strength machine-like” items to their power racks, saving space. While space is the biggest problem for many home gym owners, these rack attachments come at a price. The first is that many do not perform quite as well as a standalone machine. Certain cuts need to be made to get these attachments onto a rack. Secondly, it has the potential to lead to a very cluttered rack and certain movements m ..read more

Titan TwistLock Collars: Convenient and Magnetic Barbell Clamps Reviewed

Introduction I was able to grab a pair of the TwistLock Pro Barbell Collars from Titan at HomeGymCon and thought they were a cool innovation at the time. However, I didn’t truly appreciate them until they organically became my “go-to” collars within my home gym, replacing my Rogue USA Aluminum Collars. Their clamp is not quite as strong, but it is definitely easier to use. Therefore, I wanted to write about them, and I’ll dive into the details in the rest of this review. In general, there are better value collars on the market, but I appreciate their ease of use and magnetic features. Plus, t ..read more
