Several thousands of dollars worth in utilities were stolen from MLGW in a case of squatting of a house at Windsor Parkways, perpetuated by two men. The two suspects, Jordan Hanson and Johnathan Montgomery, had been living there without the property owner’s permission since January. One of them claimed they had paid $400 to stay there, a claim that has been refuted by the owner himself. Nickelodeon’s former producer Dan Schneider has reportedly sued the producers of “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV”, alleging the docu-series put him in a bad light and making implications that he also was sexually abusing child actors throughout his time. Former Shelby County judge Melissa Boyd violated her plea agreement and was subsequently sentenced on Wednesday to two days in jail. Judge Bill Anderson Jr. came to the conclusion that she had violated her agreement of not making contact with Lashanta Rudd, her previous campaign manager, after pleading guilty of misdemeanor harassment. Boyd resigned on April 2nd after allegations of drug and alcohol abuse following her May 2023 suspension from the bench for abusing substances. Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) just unanimously approved a salary increase across the board for teachers proposed by the District’s teacher memorandum of understanding (MOU). Memphis Police confirmed a 7-year-old boy had a loaded firearm in his backpack at his elementary school. This all occurred at Evans Elementary School in Parkway Village on Friday morning. The boy was reportedly not trying to use it on other people, rather he was showing it off to other kids when he took it from his guardian. The Department of Child Services took the boy into custody and police did recover the weapon. There were no injuries or major situations outside of the confiscation of the gun.
