During my last stay in Buenos Aires, when I was DJ-ing at Milonga Parakultural, I met a sweet older tanguero, a real gentleman. He politely introduced himself to me – his name was Ricardo Chorny and told me that he was celebrating his 85th birthday exactly that evening. After their initial visit to Slovenia in 2022, Horacio Godoy and Maricel Giacomini returned to Ljubljana in 2023. This year, the Milonga La Milonguita Ljubljana was an integral part of the entire event: the October Milonga La Milonguita Ljubljana seamlessly merged with the Saturday gala milonga of the event. I was honoured to DJ at the special charity event »Rotary Tango Evening« on March 3, 2023, in Festivalna dvorana Ljubljana. The event’s purpose was to raise funds for dancers with fewer opportunities and those who are helped by dance as a form of therapy. We had some excellent exhibitions by the Slovenian dancers in wheelchairs and other great Argentine tango dancers, the harmonica virtuoso Marko Hatlak, and a special class of chacarera – an Argentine folklore dance. Milonga Parakultural was voted the best milonga in the world in 2018 and 2019 at Premios Tango in Buenos Aires. It is organized every Monday, Tuesday & Friday in Salon Canning – the most famous tango salon in Buenos Aires, for the last almost 20 years, by Omar Viola, the famous tango organizer.
