The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will undertake a process to appoint Mick Byrne’s replacement in the coming months. The position of head coach will officially become vacant at the completion of Super Rugby Pacific in June as Byrne has taken up the Fiji Water Flying Fijians head coach role. The Ministry of Lands has clarified that a river gravel license was approved by the office of the Director of Lands to Yavusa Solia Trust on 28th September 2022 for 12 months. In a statement, the Minister Responsible for Lands Filimoni Vosarogo said that the license covers part of the Waimanu River and it was issued after the Yavusa Solia Trust had fulfilled all the requirements. A Super Rugby Pacific investigation has found that allegations of racial abuse towards Fijian Drua scrumhalf Frank Lomani “could not be substantiated.” It was alleged that a spectator at AAMI Park had abused Lomani on the sidelines after the was sent off during the April 5 game against the Melbourne Rebels for a nasty elbow to the head of lock Josh Canham.
