If I were still homeschooling I’d be tempted to use this book to help in a story telling class. What kind of story would YOUR imagination spin up with a baseball cap, mala beads, or _________. I love how it was not just Houston who needed to learn, grow, and change, but all the members of the his team learned new things. I am not going to say Born Survivors is easy to listen to. There were times when it is so hard to listen to what was done to them. BUT there were also times when you could see the miracles, and feel the love, and see the growth that hardship wrought. THAT is worth listening for!
