Fashion that fits

Does anyone else find it difficult to find the right store to buy clothes from? It feels like a game of retail Russian roulette. Recently, I was surprised to receive an email from someone asking if an outfit I had posted was from H&M, because she couldn't locate the jacket. I could not find the receipt. The jacket was passed to me in the dressing room as the assistant assured me the cut would complement my shape. The fit was perfect with cuff placement that did not require me to roll them. When I wore the jacket and a high-waisted pencil skirt to a Sunday brunch. I was ecstatic that the ..read more

I cannot recall a time when denim was not part of my wardrobe, dressed up or down no other fabric has the versatility or charm to transcend into every season. Denim is timeless, but the way we wear it evolves. Pairing vintage flare jeans with a new-season denim vest, from Rita Ora, give a fresh and classic look that doesn't try too hard. The trends in denim fashion keep changing with the seasons. Personally, I am currently obsessed with large turn-ups, although they may not work well with flats. However, pairing them with kitten heels is my new obsession. I am glad that I took the time to ch ..read more

I’ve had enough of this Winter & I’m ready to move forward. It’s time to put away my Uggs, Wellies & over the knee boots. Normally, I would be embracing the various Fashion Week trends this time of year, but instead, I’m left feeling jealous, old & rather envious. The catwalks are brimming with young girls who have slim, undeveloped figures and an unparalleled freshness that only youth can bring. Their unlined faces are stunning, with any grey hair being only dyed highlights. I felt frustrated, envious, and depressed as I pondered the discarded fashion magazines scattered around m ..read more

Fashion is on the move once again, and Spring is looking spiffy, vibrant, colourful, rich, and defined. I'm embracing pinks, blues, stripes, and a kaleidoscope of Spring's best bouquets. Statement denim is most flattering in a high-waisted indigo flare that is either gently cropped or skimming the floor. Understated touches of gold complement the button and bag chain to add richness. Easy elegance, bold bright colours, opt for stripes this season is about bright stand out styling. The stunning dress from Joe Brown is already a wardrobe staple. Suddenly clothes are beautiful again, rich-looki ..read more

It was the warmest January on record, so I'm opting for summer sandals with socks. Here's how I'm styling them for February. I’m obsessed with this season's most versatile trend. Possibly the quickest and easiest wardrobe inspiration ever. Adding colour to any outfit is now easier than ever with the sock trend. A modern twist in the Winter sun.Pops of red complement the various shades of green. I built the outfit around quirky socks for a modern twist in the winter sun. Fashion should be colourful, inspiring, and fun. Pair fun stripes with Carvela peep toes. Keep culottes plain and use a sm ..read more

For the past 4 weeks, my Mother has been in hospital, but somehow I have managed to continue working. The impact mentally and visually my wardrobe provided has never been more evident, needed or appreciated. Perhaps the most important reason we wish to dress properly for every occasion is that our clothing affects and reflects our mood. But if your life falls apart it’s a different story. My whole well-being was thrown overboard, schedules, location ..who, what I was wearing..Or should have been wearing…thankfully emails were sent & I tried to get through them. Luckily over the years, I ..read more

My favourite magazines are always the Christmas editions, packed with tempting mouth-watering images of the most perfect clothes, parties & fantasy layouts…this year more than ever. It’s Pure escapism a chance to leave the real world & head into a world of make-believe. Jewellery, diamonds dressed up models in extravagant one-off designer outfits with golden sequin eyelids & glitter pouts. My state of mind and the need to indulge in make-believe dressing were directly impacted by the difficult few years we have all witnessed. Not just how I see myself but how society is becoming ..read more

Sleek chic and subtly sparkling, fashion’s current obsession with all things glitzy arrives just in time to add glam & opulence to the festive season. Ok, I’m going to be honest ..these metallic stretch leggings were an impulse buy. Unable to try them on in M&S because they were in the children’s dept. I hoped for the best and wow. When worn top to toe the season’s sparkliest embellishment is clear. You may prefer an after-dark crystalised moment but for me the allure is timeless. Oh my goodness, how heavenly is this dress? For all-out glamour, you can’t go wrong with a ruched dress ..read more

The cold weather isn’t a signal to pack away all your favourite Summer staples…instead, mix them with your Fall Wardrobe. A faux gillet with Summer cullotes perfect for Autumn. Maybe it is the look and feel of luxury, warmth and nostalgia but my faux furry jackets feel like old friends …reunited after 6 months of vacum packed absence. A hint of rock chic thrown over the shoulder or vamp it up with knee-high boots. A riot of mixed greys elevates a black dress to goddess level or tossed over leggings with a vest. My mood lifts instantly. This cosy, weighty, cardigan pulls together a casual Su ..read more
