A vital resource to victims of domestic and sexual violence in our community will be forced to cut programs or decrease services when faced with a large federally-funded (Victims of Crime Act) cut of over $265,000 annually. FOR CITY TIMES FRIENDSHIP – An inmate originally from another county died while in custody at the Adams County Jail. According to Sheriff Brent York, a 38-year-old male inmate was found unresponsive in his jail cell just after 6 p.m. on Monday July 15. Deputies immediately began lifesaving efforts. Lifestar Ambulance arrived at the jail four minutes later and took over lifesaving measures. Additional patrol deputies also assisted. FOR CITY TIMES WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced the intersection at WIS 54/73 and Wisconsin River Drive is now open to traffic, but motorists will encounter some new traffic patterns. The intersection was reconfigured as part of a road improvement project constructed this year. As part of the new configuration, traffic on WIS 54/73 will not stop through the intersection. FOR CITY TIMES FRIENDSHIP – Adams County Sheriff Brent York has confirmed the adult female found dead June 27 in Strongs Prairie was 62-year-old Sharon K. Miller, known by family and friends as Sharon Miller-Robinson. Investigators also located the body of her son, Jami L. Lumby, 37, at their residence.
