The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced it will be creating a new regulatory path for CBD products as current regulations are not suitable.
Safety concerns have been raised regarding risks associated with CBD products such as harm to children and pregnant women, harm to the liver, interactions with certain medications and possible harm to the male reproductive system.

Healthy Body Healthy Mind (HBHM) secured contracts with two major online retailers – Amazon and Not on the High Street – for the sale and distribution of their range of CBD oils.
HBHM launched on Not On The High Street in November 2022, and Amazon in January 2023.
Both online retail giants will be stocking the company’s range of plant-based, carbon-neutral CBD oils, as well as further health and wellness products which will be launched over the course of this year.

One of the USA’s largest CBD brands, Ambrani, will be expanding its distribution to see its products – which have been backed by Kim Kardashian – reach customers in Europe.
The company has announced that its CBD products will now be carried in Europe’s largest retailer, El Corte Ingles, and will continue its expansion into Germany, France, Portugal and Nordic Countries.
It will also focus on Germany for retailer brick-and-mortar retail locations in anticipation of cannabis legalisation in 2023.

Chill Brands has confirmed a new sales distribution partner and an expansion of its US retail store programme.
Consumer package goods company, Chill Brands, has received an initial purchase order totalling in excess of $20,000.
The order has come from a large national distributor serving a number of popular tobacco and liquor store chains. Following the sale, Chill Brands’ existing range of CBD products will enter an additional 60 stores across the Western United States.

The UK’s cannabis industry body, the Cannabis Industry Council (CIC) has developed a new offering for CBD companies, in order to better represent the interests of the sector.
A new CBD working group has been created by the CIC, which will kick off in early 2023.
The group will discuss the key issues facing the CBD industry, conduct supportive activity, and help shape CIC policy positions in this area.
