I am a school librarian and have been an avid reader from as far back as I can remember. I particularly like fantasy but will read anything that grabs my attention. I enjoy drawing and painting, when I feel like it but tend to turn those talents to map drawing for D & D. As a DM I like things to be relatively straight forward with the PCs being the hero adventurer yet maybe with one or two..

Potions, to be specific!
So what did you imagine the size of a potion vial to be? I reckoned it was something that would fit into the palm of my hand, easily stored in some sort of belt pouch for quick access; A small bottle.
Potions in D&D 5e haven’t been given a weight – well one has, the Potion of Healing. It stands at 1/2 lb! A vial, which is what I imagine we all assume other potions weigh as well. H.a.l.f. a. p.o.u.n.d! When one does a little looking into old glass vials, it is obvious they are, in the main small.

Text in italic are my thoughts and what I do as a DM or how I have interpreted something in the rules.
Attunement
Not all magic items need attunement. Eg. +1, etc weapons (p213 DMG), ammunition (p150 DMG), and armour (p152 DMG) don’t ..read more

As a horse rider for 40 years or thereabouts, horses and their mechanics in Dungeons & Dragons, or at least the lack of options, really bother me and, sorry to my wonderful Dungeon Masters, utterly frustrate me – it is an aspect of the game where I really struggle to shut down the meta-gaming and comparing to the real world scenario. We give our NPCs, PCs, (and many monsters) a variety of traits and features, yet the D&D pony, riding horse, mule, and draft horse are to put it bluntly, boring and bear no relation whatsoever to those intelligent, athletic, and dexterous creatures. One c ..read more
